hey guys
I saw an article i think on this site about what people say when they are ready for the boat to go. ex. hit it .. ect what are some you guys use
also what funny wakeboarding sayings are there kinda like "no pain no game" but for wakeboarding, and finally
people have things that say like 10 reasons to date a soccer player and stuff like that. anyone one come accross or make one up for wakeboarding?

I've always tried to come up with something different every time I get out of the water... I've used:
"Giddy up", "Show me the money", "Lets go", etc. but one thing to keep in mind is that it is probably safest to use "Hit it" all the time. If you ever got the rope tangled around you when the boat came to pick you up, "whoa" (sp? Ie. stop!) sounds alot like "Go".

I just usually start to stand up when I want to go, and most of the drivers I ride with know when to hit the throttle. When I'm riding with someone new who doesnt pick it up right away, I just say "alright" or something.

My driver asked me once if I was ready, and I said "yeah, hit it". The driver thought I said (in a canadian accent) "yah hey 'dere". That has become our standard, along with "Get it on" (most extreme elimination challenge).

When I bail on an easy trick, I proclaim to everyone on the boat as they bring me the rope, "Failure envelopes me like a gray pudding".

When someone is afraid to try a new trick, they need to put down the purse and stop being a sally.

Like a lot of you, my driver(s) usually just know when to go. Sometimes I use "I'll follow you". I like the one about the newbies and two thumbs up, may have to try that one !!!

Or as the driver I yell back to the rider, "are you ready?" as soon as I hear "yes" the throttle goes down.

A "Magic angle face plant" when it feels like someone has busted a board over your face and you're struggling to have some feeling.

I am partial to "shoot the coals to it".

Most of the time we holler "One Motion", meaning when the boat swings around, you gotta get the rope and in postion to get pulled up all in "one motion". Boat just slows down, never stops.

Paul, Git-r-done! love it!
We usually use 'Slack' to pull the slack out of the rope, then 'Hit it'.
We might just switch to 'Git-r-done'

yah yah... but yea, if the driver and I are on the same level, they know to slow down while circling, then when the slack is out, its on.

Couple of our sayings:
if they are whining about hurting something or are being a puss "rub some vagisil on it"
if they are dropping the handle alot, "is there a spider on there?"
If they did a nasty faceplant, "He started counting and made it to whu."
And the all time best, "Do the Hulk!" (for when it is cold as hell and you have to jump in the water)

If the rider keeps missing the handle - "you dropped your purse"

If they bailed on a trick or throw the handle we usually give them the big diamond hand sign.

Usually just a head nob, until that one time the rider isnt quite ready when the driver hits it, and after that its a simple "go"

At a summer camp I went to 12 years ago, the always drunk off his butt boat driver would pull us in the tube and before he'd start we'd have to scream "I don't spi+, I swa11ow"...didnt know what it meant back then.

Whenever someone has a big trick or a big fall, we always bust out our scoreboards. There's a dock right by where we ride all the time, so we'll have 3 people with scoreboards just hanging out on the dock being our judges, so we always bust our biggest tricks right in front. Other boaters seem to get a good laugh out of it too.

"PASS OF SHAME!" When someone does a GLG(Girly Let Go) and we are coming back to pick up the fallen soldier. What happens is as the boat is around 10 feet from the fallen rider we speed up to maybe 5 mph, everyone on the boat looks away from the rider(except for the driver of coarse) therefore creating a tsunami over top of the riders head. Or we do the same thing but point and laugh at the rider.

"You must not have taken your Hold The Fluck On medicine today!" is another funny.

I LOVE the "you droped your purse" one.

Ok, Driver here... If your driver doesn't know when you're ready... then they need to get a clue. I may be a chick that doesn't ride, but I certainly know when my riders are ready. Hello drivers clue in!!!!!!

My favorite overall is "Git-er-done!" sums it all up when just trying to ride. My favorite boat start I guess would be "make it happin' cappin'". The best handle drop would have to be "You must not have taken your 'Hold The Fluck On' medicine today!" I have to say some of you guys are pretty creative, or something cause some are good but other make no since at all. "Camel toe". Oh n guys lay off the chick jokes, lol j/k thats just something guys must do to motivate each other I guess w/e.

Sadly, i usually have to remind my driver that she has to remove the 10 + feet of slack in the rope before she can expect me to say "hit it" or anything else like that.
NOTE: if it's your mom driving in a situation like this, don't get lippy.. concequences include having your arms ripped off when the rope gets tight(if you decide to hold on), or being left in the middle of the lake to swim home (my lake is about 15 miles long, so that could be bad)
