We try to get our boat out as much as possible, but since purchase three years ago we are only averaging 40hrs a season...seems low but I think it has alot to do with how much "lounging" we do!

It got me curious about others, as well as how long of commutes you guys have to get your boat in the water?? For us it's a 1hr drive, not toooo bad but certainly a bit of a factor in taking it out...

80 last year. I am at 80 for this year with about two months left on the water.

My ramps are 2 miles, 14 miles, and 15 miles. The 2 miles away ramp is where i go to party at. Wakeboarding i go to the other two ramps. The water is always glass at the two ramps.

Well, i've got a 15 month daughter and twins due in two weeks. 10 hours this year, who knows next.... other wise 50-120 a year is my typical range.

Getting married greatly increased that (someone to always go out on the boat with) kids greatly reduced that for a few years.

Ive had the boat a year this month and have somewhere around 80 hours on it. About the distance to the ramp, as of now we're about 45 mins away, but we're closing on a house on the 22nd and we'll be about 75 yards from the water and 4 miles to the ramp.

115 hours in 4 months. 2 Miles to the nearest ramp. I have a lift so I don't need to use the ramp though.

15 miles to warm early season water and 60 mikes to 5500' mountain lake. We have 100 hours in season and a half. Our old boat was maybe 25 hours a year. Kids love the new boat.

I'm averaging About 200 A Year. Boat ramp is About 20 Minutes Away. When We Do Powell For About 10 Days, We Put On About 50 Hours right There. I'm Currently At 1120

I'll break 100 hrs for sure this season unless the weather suddenly turns to crap. Up here in the PNW, clocking more than 50hrs a season is pretty damn good. The month of July could go either way and could really put a damper in your season. However, not a single rain drop during the month of July this year. I out 50hrs last month. Boat ramp is 30-45minutes away depending on traffic.

Got my current boat in March 2011. I have 304 hours on it now. So a little over 100 hours a year. We live just over 1 hour away from the lake we go to.

i normally put on 90hrs a year but this summer here in Erie has sucked so far. i think im sitting around 40hrs and it seems like summer is over. i think we should list how long our summers are. Erie, PA from about May but water is still around 60* and normally 3-4 footer but you can find a good day here and there to about October 1st but again September gets real windy and cool air temps. water might be 70* but air temps are going to be 65-70* for highs.
i keep my boat in the water. with a 15 min drive to the marina.

I'm at 30 and just had to pull the boat due to some carb issues. Ramp is 75ft from my door haha, but the boat is in the water. Our summer in the Northeast has really sort of sucked. Pretty similar to Rusty's^^^^

Typically 50-60 hours a year. I was boatless last year until June 15th when I got my MB and only put on 36 hours. This year the weather has sucked (rain every 3 days trashing the river) and my truck and trailer got damaged. So it's looking like about 14 hours this season.

Bought my new to me boat on June 15th. 30 hours as of now.

3 launches in under ten minutes. More than I can count within an hour drive. Not to mention the st. Croix river

450 Hours on my 2010 Axis, so about 150 a year. This year has slowed down. Boat is in a covered slip at marina, and living on houseboat in the summer. Don't get out as much as I thought I would once im there all the time. Plus its been super rainy lately and temps didnt warm up until mid may/june...

Got my boat on June 2 and have put 65 hours on it already. We are 10 miles from the lake, so a short 15 min drive and we are on. I have been slammed at work, or I would probably have over 100 hours on it by now.
Old     (scotthons)      Join Date: Mar 2010       08-07-2013, 8:29 AM Reply
I would usually average about 80 hrs a year. I envy you guys that are so close to the water. I have a 3 hour drive so it is weekends only for me. We have a 7 month old and recently kicked off a new business this year so the boat has hardly touched the water, but August and September are going to look much better.

We've done about 35hrs so far, and have a long way to go - we can board well into October. The closest boat ramp is 30-45minutes away.

Depends on the lake, but around 40 minutes to the closer ones. We left her at a friends cabin for the month of August and that is about 1.75 hours away....give or take.

10 years(2003) = 398 hours.....

Little too much of this.....

....and too much stuff going on with the kids and their athletics. Just can't get out as much as we'd like. But we still enjoy it when we go out and she's mine, so why not keep her.... Plus, my 8 year old daughter decided last weekend that she wanted to try to wakeboard....so that was fun.

We average about 100 hrs a year and due to a new work schedule we may fall a little short on that this year. We have a 120 mile 2 hour drive each way to launch....:-(

We did 104 hours last year and we are on pace for at least 125 hours this year. The boat ramp is 1.5 miles from the house. However the lake is only open May 1st-September 30th.

E.J. - Never gets old when posting a pic of your SANTE! Good work on the little one giving it a go and doing really well it looks like. My daughter 10 says she finally wants to try surfing so we will see. Next week we will be in Powell and hope to help her play behind the boat a little and not just swim.

2012 MB F21 and haven't broke 100 hours yet. SLACKING but like EJ we find a lot of floating around just relaxing.

About 150 a year for me. Boat is kept in the water 25 minutes away. It takes a beating from the sun and the bottom looks terrible by this time of year but it's so worth it.

Oops! It was supposed to 100 hours. And we have 2 lakes ten minutes from home that we can boat on.

I put just over 180hrs on our boat that we took delivery of in late March of 2012.

We found out that my wife is pregnant with our 3rd and final kid in early March of this year and have only put about 25hrs on the boat since. It sucks but such is life.

Just under 200 hours a season. Sold my 3 year old boat with 585 hours on it, so guess I average 195 per season.
Boat is in my dock/cradle every year except this (lake is 19 feet low, dock is dry). Boat ramp is ~10 minutes from where I now store her (my office/shop).

Recently sold my X45, purchased in May of 2009 with ~870 hours i think. So about 215 a year. Those first couple years were higher average, until a bud bought a boat to share the duty. Boat is in the backyard on a lift. Oh, and we ride year round. Guess that explains it.

67 hours for this year. Ramp is 8 miles away.

I'd say we average about 40. This year will be light, as we had a late start due to weather and then finding a cracked pump housing once I finally got to drop her in. The hours also stay down a bit as we rotate between a few boats. I think another thing that is keeping mine down is that I haven't been getting out in the evenings as much. Between wind and boat traffic, the lake hasn't been calming down as much in the evening. I think it's mostly the latter, as our lake has added more slips over the past few years. h

74 hours so far this year, ramp is 500 ft from my house, but have to drive 15 min to one we can use since the lake is so low. At least we have a nice little beach now!

I average around 100 hrs a year. This year I won't hit that with this crappy weather and surgery. I am at around 40 right now. I anticipate my hours going up with my daughters (6&8)wakeboarding regularly as of this year. They love it.

My ramp is a block walk to the water out the front door.

I have 2006 SAN 210 with 1,400 hours on it, and that equates to 200 hours a year. I live about 50 miles from the ramp and try to go every weekend. I have gone through three complete sets of tires and replaced my trailer bearings twice. According to my log, I have over 60,000 miles on my trailer.

This winter I am rebuilding the trailer with new bunks, powder coat, surge brake system, new wiring and lighting, and maybe new rims.

goal would be a 100 hrs/year but not getting there this season :-( only @37 hrs so far - first weather, then wake restriction, then was hoping that wife is done with school but NCLEX prep takes a lot longer - one in my crew got injured on the snowboard so he's out all season and some other life-changing events for others - so despite 20 ft to the boat lift - this is about it. Last year we ended up a little over 90 hours which was fine (partially towing - weren't living at the lake before mid July) and about the same with the first boat I sold in 2011 with a season going from mid June - September.

1000 over 10 years, so 100/year average. And little to no lounging, all riding and going home. I'm about 10 miles from ramp.

I am about 75 minutes from the ramp (with no traffic). Since Jan 1st (through June 20), I had put 145 hours on my 2002 210 Super Air Nautique. Picked up my G23 on June 20th and have 110 hours on it so far, with probably another 18 hours planned for this weekend. 115 degree days in arizona are rough at times, but the flip side is that we can ride year round (trunking it usually for 8-9 months)

we average about 100 hours a year, but will probably be closer to the 115-120 range this year. We have 85 now, houseboat trip and a month or 2 of riding so maybe even more than 120, hopefully.

119 Hours, 2013 Malibu VLX, average drive to lake is 25 mins to 1 hr 15 mins depending on our choice that day. We usually make a full day of the water, not uncommon for us to be pulling off the water in the dark... occasionally we will do an evening out on the water. Past five years we average about 115-130 hours a season, it seems we all burn out a little at this point.

Varies widely.. as low as 40, as much as 100. No ramp, boat is on a lift. Of course, those hours are typically almost half of what we actually spend on the lake - since we're on the lake, we're not always on OUR boat.

My old boat didn't have an hour meter, so who knows. On our 'Bu we bought it summer 2011, so it didn't got maybe 20 hours the first year (daughter was also 6 months old at the time). Last year I think we did 40 hours; vacations and I can't recall why else kept us from getting more hours. This year we are at 35 hours, and the crappy weather we have had all season is the direct result (plus a 2 week vacation out of the country and breaking a skeg kept us off the weekends that were actually nice. Still have the rest of the season and a lake house vacation on Labor Day week, so I expect around 50 hours. We normally have a small crew so the boat isn't constantly running.

Live 3 minutes from the boat ramp, which is small water so there isn't any drive time to a riding spot. Next closest is 13 minutes but we rarely go there as it sucks on the weekends.

50hrs last season on my 205v. But we were splitting time between my boat and my buddy's SAN 210. My son was born in Nov, so this year I've only got about 20hrs so far. It's not the father duties getting in the way as much as the bad weather we've had this summer in the southeast. It's been the rainiest summer I can remember. Closest ramp is about 20 minutes away.
