I just ordered a straight line thermal line and bantam carbon handle. Was this a good choice? I had a SL static line and i think it had some stretch. Does a good line make a difference?

Chris:
I have the rope no problems love it.
The handle I had a hard line carbon handle did not like it. The grip was to hard slipped out of my hands to easy, and ouch! it ripped my skin off. I don't know how the rope or handle can help but what the hell it's only money.

Good line makes a world of difference, I used to ride on a stretch line made for skiing and it was hard to get consistent pop because line tension is ever-so-important when it comes to getting air. You should be happy with your new pick-up on the rope, don't know about that particular handle but I am sure it will be fine.

I love my Bantam handle and everyone that uses mine seems to love it too. I see quite a few of them on the local lake.

A good, non-stretch line is important too, but many people overlook the handle. The Bantam is like Velcro compared to some handles I've used. It pops out of my hands a lot less often.

the line does make a huge difference. When i go out in the morning i go with some slolam skiers that are like awesome at skiing. one time i went to switch linee and the guy was like no i'll use your rope. so i let him use it and he didnt make it up. we switched lines and he was fine. when he got done he said the no stretch line was like you had no pull then it was all there so i guess there is a huge difference in stretch and no stretch.
