Sorry to keep bugging yall for boat opinions but it seems that as soon as my family gets interested in a boat it sells. Right now there are four boats that have caught our eye.

'96 Malibu Sunsetter LX
Has tower, racks, wedge, 240 hours, and has been well kept.
price= $19000

'95 MC prostar 205
no tower(we would add one), 1100 hours w/ 100 on rebuilt engine, interior is in very good condition
price= $15000

'98 MB sports Boss 210
extended pylon, 375 hours, in good condition inside & out
price= $19800

'95 Sport nautique
extended pylon, not sure of hours, seems overpriced @ $20000

Which will provide the nicest wake assuming only 500-800 lbs are added? Which would it be most feasible to add a mostly hidden auto- ballast system to?
Thanks for all the help.

i would go with the sunsetter. It has low hours and a tower along with racks and most importantly the wedge. the wedge helps shape the wake and throws a good one with no added weight. I ride behind a sunsetter quite frequently and really like it

i'd go with the sport but i think it is overpriced. about a month ago i found two sports just like that one on boattrader.com. one had 360 hrs the other like 450 and they were priced at 14-15.5 thousand each (no tower though). they were both in dallas which is pretty close to san antonio.

go with a v drive. they have the most room, easiest places to hide the weight and have the best stock wakes.

The 205 and the Nautique should have the best wake. Which dealer is close to home for when you have to get it serviced?

Our lakehouse is on lake granbury (30-45 min from ft worth) where the boat will stay after purchase.
sunsetter is for sale by owner, 205 is for sale about 30 min away, nautique is for sale in san antonio but there is a partner dealership in austin (2-2.5 hrs away)

Now I have found another boat to throw into the mix. It's a 00 supra launch. It doesnt have a tower but has a ballast system, an electric wake plate and only 40 hours on rebuilt engine. Price is $17,500.

You should either pick the Supra or the MC prostar 205 seem.

That is weird that a Supra Launch (wakeboard boat) doesn't have a tower.......but yet it has a ballast system. hmmmmmmmmm that's strange

Which did you end up getting?

If you don't mind letting me know where did you find the Sport Nautique?

Chris- I would stay away from the 2000 with a rebuilt engine on a five year old boat. Have you tried looking at flipsell.com for other boats in your area?

yeah that is strange a 00 Launch w/ no tower but a ballast and a rebuilt engine, for only 17,5 too, if its too good to be true theres usually a problem

Ya the launch had alot of problems. We still haven't gotten one yet. The sport is on boat trader online.

ok... kinda feeding off this question... Looking for a family boat / people hauler for watersports. Have a 7 year old and 3 year old.. Would like to have something that could have 8 passengers comfortable but up to 10... I'm looking at a 2000 Supra Launch (ballast, plate, tower, etc.), and a wakesetter vlx (tower, but would add wedge & balast). Which of these do you think would fit our situation? I am an entry level wakeboarder (35 year old) and I plan on keeping this boat for a while... everyone we take out to the lake loves watersports.. thanks
