OK… got my ballast system in and tested yesterday. I used 2 T’s to split off my thru hull scupper intake to feed 3 pumps. Only one small change to make…

Has anyone found 1” ID barb fittings that are Y shaped instead of T’s?? One side fills way faster that the other…so I know the water flow is disrupted by having a T in the line. I have checked both Home depot and Lowe’s with no success.

Have you tried somewhere like Valley Supply?

http://www.valleysupply.com/

I have picked up items there that I could not find at Lowes/Home Depot.

I was looking for the same thing at one time. Go to http://www.whalepumps.com/ . They have them on West Marine's website. I've found a 1 1/2" ID, maybe they have a a 1"ID. You might want to try putting ball valves in your hose line. I ended up doing that with a "T" instead of the "Y". When would sack was full, I would simply close that valve and the other would fill.

Jon, Thanks. I will check with Whalepumps in the AM. West marine does have the 1 ˝” version. If they have the 1" Y's I am set. If not I might be able to use a reducer to barb and keep the 1" ID. The way my system is set I was trying to stay away from any manual valves.

Another way to go is to go ahead and put the valves in between the split in the line and the sacks. Then, through trial and error you close one or the other of the valves a bit until the flow is balanced and both sacs fill at the same time. So you're not having to crank on the valves once it's set up.
