Lake of the Ozarks

Some friends and I are heading down to the Lake of the Ozarks for the first time for little parting and of course wakeboarding. The word on the street is that it is ridiculously choppy and was wondering if anyone had some suggestions on where we can find some smooth water when we get there. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

theres a ton of big coves, usually there all pretty smooth. Your best bet is to get out early when the waters glass.

what area of the lake will you be on? The Midwestcoast Summerfest tourney is there this weekend in the State Park back in the Glaize Arm of the lake.

We are staying at the Southwood Shores Resort. It is at the 12MM. We are actually not going until next weekend so we won't be making it to the tourney. Clearly an oversight on our part.

Keep going past Party Cove waaaaay back in the State Park area. Rode down there last weekend and it was beautiful. Ask around for where the lilly pads are. It is usually shallow back there, but the lake is up.

anyone know if the lake water is warm like last year? we're heading down on friday for a week and i was just wondering....

oh and tim is right, go way back past party cove in the state park, but beware, if you are trying to leave on the weekend in mid-day, its an ocean out there especially if you have a small boat...

My family and I are going to be in osage beach on the 23,24,25. does anybody know of any board shops, wake related things to do, or is there anybody that would give an old fat guy a pull?

Skiers Wharf Extreme, Osage Beach, MO, Make sure to go to Party Cove, Mardi Gras on water!!!

Water temp was 88 when I was down on 7/6-7/9.

good. last year when we went the water was like 95 degrees and it was pretty disgusting. thanks!

I lived there for a couple of years and there are many coves to duck into. If you don't get out early, you will have trouble crossing the lake in a 20 footer. especially in an older ski boat that we nearly sank. We had a great cove by 6mm. Don't miss the floating pizza party and DON'T MISS PARTY COVE! Dock Knockers is the best and the have crab races at night.
