Has anyone tried playing around with the fins on the Inland boards?

I have an 05 or 06 Blue that I've been thinking about putting some larger fins on for drive and speed.... I believe they are "futures" fins.

Anyone tried this?

I put 4.5 Futures on my Red, but didn't see much difference.

Another question about fins....

The Inland Surfer fins are curved on one side. Should the curve go to the inside, or to the outside? Does anyone know? Does it matter?

yo matt, i put bigger fins on my '06 and '07 blue lake. we (inland surfer) carry to sets of future fins, called side bites. one size is 3.25" and the next size is 3.5". I found that after my leg strength increased i liked the bigger fins, more drive. i can still break them loose for doing 360's and side slides.

lance, i've see pics of your riding here and there as well as the footage on the inland videos. nice!

I was thinking of trying maybe some 4" or 4.5" like Ed to see how it rides... got inspired by the pics of Chaze Hazen with his 4.5s on his new SS model.

by the way - our lake finally re-opened in Austin this weekend and I pulled my 3rd 360 on the Inland Blue... next step is making it consistent!

So what does the curve to the inside, or the outside really do?

Bill and I noticed this while riding on Saturday, my Yellow had the curve to the outside, and his blue had them to the inside.

matt, 4 inch or bigger fins on the blue will make it track like its on rails. mark and i have tried bigger fins on all the boards. if you like a tight feel that has lots of drive, big fins are the way to go. it will be a bit tougher to break it loose for spins and slides though. troy, you want the curve on the outside. if someone had the curve on the inside, they have the fins in the opposite fin box. the curve acts like a foil, an airplane wing for example. is physics ask mark.

Thanks for the advice, I'll switch them up tonight. Both my yellow and my blue have them to the inside.

Lance, your link on your profile is not complete...needs the dot-com. :-)
