Edge harder and hold your edge all the way through the wake. Pop from the TOP of the wake by really pushing your board against the wake by extending your legs. This will take you up AND out! Landings will be smooth, if the approach and the take off are done correctly.

You probably need more speed. If everything else works ok, more speed gives you more distance.

My riding style really involves a lot of speed to the wake. But when you do this you have to concentrate on keeping that same form You use when going for pop. Try to avoid bad habits like flattening off before you get to the wake. Throwing tricks into the flats are way cool but the landings are tough on the knees.
