Hey...
Im new to wakeboarding, yet still quite decent.
Im looking at 06 boards because i want a good board, but i dont want to spend $900 on a board and bindings.
Im looking at the 136 Shane and the 138 watson. I really dig the watson, but i think it might be too big for me.
Im 5' 10" and 137 lbs.
I just dont want to buy the 138 and not be satisfied with it like i did with my snowboard (i bought a 155 and it cant spin for im moving down to a 151 this year)

What do you think would be a wise decision?

OH and which bindings should i get to go along with them?
i DID want the watsons but then i read that they sometimes fall apart sooo yea not to happy about that. the shanes are cool, but im not sure if ill be satisfied with the flex. the liquid force websight says that stiffer bindings are more like snowboarding which i think i would like. and then theres also the transits which are deffinatley a possibility. sooo:
Watsons
Shanes
or Transits

Jesse - being that you're 5'10" you could easily ride the 138. They tell you to ride a certain size based on your weight, but your height determines your stance width and should be considered as well. You should be able to have the same control on either of those boards.....in other words, you won't notice the length difference.

Thanks to both of you Daves.
2 things:
1) im not sure where or IF i can demo anything around here (long island, NY)
2) Would a 134 be too small for me?

And also, any suggestions on bindings?

Jesse I know it changes for every board but I'm 6'0 147 lbs and I ride a 134.

I'm 5'5" 145 lbs and ride 134-136 boards, but you're right Dan in that personal preference is a factor as well.

I kind of figured you didn't have many board shops nearby, Jesse. A wider model (i.e.CWB) 134 should work for you, but if you're young and still growing I would suggest bigger.

As for boots, I think you'll like the '06 Transits. They're plenty stiff for wakeboarding and they fit killer. If you have a wide "fat" foot they may not be the best choice, but your "specs" suggest that you don't. lol BTW, I have a 10.5 foot and wear Large.

Shaun Murray rides a 138 and he's smaller than you by a long shot! I don't see it giving him problems spinning.

Put CWB Zeuss on that Watson for the Ultimate setup.

definately go with the 138 watson or 136 shane. any smaller your feet will feel very close togethor. you will beable to get a wider stance, get lower which will actually help your spinning. You shouldn't be basing your decision on weight. height is a much more important factor in deciding board size imo.

As far as boots, I think the Shane's are a closed toe version of the Watson's, FYI
