Anybody switching? Any opinions on the ronix compared to LF and hyperlite?

Nope definitely LF, I just demo a pair of ultra's and love them. No Ronix for me

Not me either. CWB for 07.... Transcend and Fuse.

bug, only cause you won't try anything but cwb stuff.

That's funny . I rode LF all last year and I still have my fish and transits in the garage. I can't wait to try the new Ronix line, but I'm definitely not "switching to a Ronix for 07" with out even trying them.

I hear you can do 10's if you ride Ronix.

I'm going with the Obrien Natural, and Argon bindings for 07.

If I demo a ronix and do a 10 while riding it, then I will buy it. Unfortunately I am not going to go out of my way to get a demo.

Yah all ronix, with a new xstar, then I will be pro!
.

I would strap into a ronix setup for a demo given the opportunity, but thats about it.

I switch to Ronix next year. But that is only because I will get a good deal on it I will go for Chad's board. I have been riding his "old" board - 3DS - this year.

My brother in law got a perscription for some Ronix when he started to go bald. I just shave my head.
Old     (bankssa)      Join Date: Mar 2003       10-23-2006, 12:09 PM Reply
If the whole setup is 4+ pounds lighter... I'm definelty going to demo it... I rode great on my Murry board and bindings but it weighs a ton. A board that is forging and trims a few pounds would be nice....

yes, im riding it.

Isn't this all the same stuff by all the same people with a new name? How many wakeboard companies is that guy to make? Is there going to be a lifetime warranty on this brand or not?
Old     (jpk)      Join Date: Sep 2005       10-23-2006, 12:25 PM Reply
I hear The One board is selling like crazy already. Danny Harf is a sponsors dream right now.

I tore up my Watson two weekends ago and need something new. I love it, but since I am in the market, if I get an opportunity to demo them I will def look at Ronix. Warranty support is probably the other issue I would be concerned about.

Does the weight really make a difference?

i am def switching....I have already pre-ordered the one board and bindings....

Just wait until you start seeing them pop into shops before you come to any conclusions. I've been fortunate enough to have ridden everything Ronix has to offer and I know without a shadow of a doubt what I'll be riding for 07. The boards and bindings are like nothing you've ever seen and are all extremely functional. Don't take my word for it though, check out Ronix at your local proshop when it arrives and see for yourselves.

from what i have seen they are pretty much like what we have seen

Why would I buy something that is unproven. Like everyone else it's the same stuff just different name. It will be a long time before I try Ronix. Im not a band wagon type of person.
Old     (wakeriderixi)      Join Date: Jan 2004       10-23-2006, 5:20 PM Reply
Well, Ronix is anything but unprove! There are plenty of folks out there that have ridden the gear and would back it as much CWB, LF, or HL. I don't know if Ronix is what i'm going for in 2007 but thats on a board by board basis, not company by company.

As for the weight issue.. people have been saying for years now that the weight differences don't make much of a different. That might be true while riding but i've gone back to my LF Trip Ultracore for the past few years just because how light that board is with my 2004 Ultras on it. I can't stand heavy boards. The only two that I would put in the noticeably 'heavy' range would be the new Murray and the 2005 Trancend. Granted the Trancend was a pro rider's board and was made thicker.

So..... Just re-read what I wrote and it almost sounds like i'm yelling at ya there Duffy. Just wanted to let you know thats not the case.

Carry on!

Probably not. I want to give their stuff a try, but as long as I get free LF stuff, I'll stick with whatever they've got.

It's cool bro that's what these threads are for, our opinions. I just don't believe in something until it's been around for a bit.I am open minded I just went from a Hype to CWB, however in due time I could very well be on a Ronix. By the way Paul I know your here in Florida you should come out and ride some time. We ride the chain out at Cypress Gardens..

Does anyone now when Ronix will be in the uk? Would like to demo as a new board is req and i know i have to wait till christmas even for the new LF stuff to arrive.

This thread sounds a lot different from a few months ago when everyone was going to switch. A lot of people were saying that Ronix would revolutionize the sport and all that. It is interesting how much people's opinions have changed in a few weeks or months.
Old     (timmy)      Join Date: Jul 2001       10-24-2006, 8:11 AM Reply
I think it had more to do with a few people getting sucked into the marketing machine, and were echoing the claims of grandeur. All in all the products are about the same as the other stuff that is out there.

Boards really have not changed all that much in the last several years, which makes it very difficult to back up claims of revolutionizing the sport. The buzz dies down a lot when people realize it is just another board company.

no way not until i see more product detail and specs as well as the full line..i definitly inetersted in checking the stuff out and demo them and only after that will i decide to buy some of it...

I have ridden boards that have been too light for my taste. I ride a light board (Abs Plat), would not want to go any lighter. A little weight makes the difference when the water is less than perfect, less board bounce in the chop.

When you gonna bring that dirty Mc Nasty steeze down here to share with the little Canyon buthas & sistaz? Always have room for ya. Hope to get back to WCC next June, got the O.K. from the War Department (wife).

Tim- you also forgot that someone landed a 1080 on a non-Ronix wakeboard. That also takes away from some of the Ronix hype.

Chuck Norris landed a 1260 on a piece of plywood behind bass boat. Twice...

o'brien owns j-star as well, right?. it's 1080-hype-city for that family.

im sticking with hyperlite, even though all the good riders left, except for shaun. It would be cool to try them out though

Is J-star still going to put out boards for 07
