Im just getting into wakeskating and im wondering about shoes. I was looking at the Ambush DVS Kenyans because they are really the only ones that i have seen that are a big enough size. Anyone tried these or have any other suggestions? thanks

i like the feel of no shoes, foam top board obviously, but when i use shoes, i kinda lose the feel. kinda like wearing a condom i guess

I just got the new Reef Byerly 2's and they're sick. I came from using some old Globe Mullen s3's and they dry soo much faster. Definately check them out. They're more like a skate shoe than the previous Byerlys also.

Also, opposing what jay said, I reccomend using shoes even with a foam top. Especially when you start doing shuvs and tech lip tricks, you dont want to smash your toe and they give you more control.

I switched from DVS to Byerly's, They feel better and are much more durable.

the only problem i see with the byerly's is that i have fairly large feet and they only go to a size 13, i might be able to squeeze into them but i really dont want the hassle of returning them if they dont fit, and there are no shops within at least 50 miles of me in WI to try any on

I ride with DVS shoes...any style that comes in mesh. They're awesome.

Heard lots of good things about the Byerlys, but never even seen a pair.

Pat, I too have a large foot (14) and have worn size 13 Byerlys for over a year now without any problems.

The reefs are SICK! Its a no brainer. They are made for the sport in every way. I thrashed 2 pairs of Vans before I finally got smart and got a pair that are meant for water use. Takes the worry of smaking toes on hard objects and regardless of foam or grip tape decks you are dialed.

Go with the Kampus shoes. They are alot more comfortable than the Byerlys due to the neoprene sock booty built in, and they last longer than the DVS shoes.
