Ok so im getting ready to order the LG package with the coated rope, but ive heard that it doesnt float...is this true? Also, all ive ever owned is straightline, how does the proline stuff hold up, i really dont want to have to get a new rope and handle again next year.

Here is the story... or mine... When you first jump in the water, you're going to see that it floats... Once you fall and the rope gets dragged in the water, water gets in it and it begins to sink a little... I don't have a tower but I assume the same thing happens.
There was a thread about people sealing up the whole or putting in a foam to keep the handle afloat.

Btw, one time it hit my wakeboard really hard at the beginning of the season and caused a small tear in the grip. The leather is made well enough though that it has stayed its size all season and did not affect my grip whatsoever.

My LG has foam on it and it keeps it up fine...as far as durability, I have gotten a new one each year (and have only paid for one) It wears down, I send it back, and the customer service at CDub is so awesome they keep sending me new ones....

If you order a new one, it should float. It is a great handle but you should also check out the Proline Synthesis--you can get it in a package as well--I love it!

I just bought the LG handle. My friend said it comes apart easily. I was kind of bummed to find this out, but luckily I have the warranty.
