Right now I'm riding behind a 2001 Sea Ray Bow Rider, but I'm looking to upgrade to a boat that can give me some good wakes for boarding, but also be able to tow skiiers and anyone who's tubing. What would you recommend?

We love our 2004 Malibu wakesetter LSV, great boarding wakes. The skiing wake is great for your open water skier. and tubbing is deadly with the handling and the wakes it has.

checkout the mastercraft X1, X2, or X15. The X1 hull has been around a really long time and is still has one of the best wakeboard wakes around. It also has one of the better ski wakes for a v-drive. The X2 is nice because it is a smaller boat(20'). It has the driving characteristics of a direct drive, but the feel of a larger boat on the interior. It throws a good wakeboarding wake, a good ski wake and an excellent surf wake. The X15 is a bigger boat, but still makes a decent ski wake. It also feels like a bigger boat in the interior. This would be nice boat if you take a lot of people out on your boat. It holds 14. The new Centurion Enzo sv216 is also suppose to be a really good crossover boat. X2 or X15 would be a good place to start. Goes without saying that you should test drive and if at all possible do all the sports that you wish to use the boat for...

If your looking for a older boat a Malibu SunsetterLXI with the wake package (Wedge and Ballast) is a great all around boat. You can ski the course and wakeboard.

my friend has an X7. The wake is great with a lot of extra ballast, and without the ballast the wake is great for skiing.

MC Xstar/X2/X1 hull is a great crossover boat as well as the pre 05' Malibu Wakesetter hulls. Both are jack of all trades but can throw serious wake if properly weighted

Nacho, whats up! Cold as ****. Guess we won't ride this weekend. Heading to Dallas for the weekend. Good to see someone that does not own a 211 talking good things. Seems to me that the 211 does all of the requested things extremely well. I have mentioned this before but a simple search on here will bring this topic up time and time again. The best boat for the money is the one you end up buying. And don't trust sales people that can not discuss you choices and other brands without bashing them. If they trust their product line they will not trash talk the other lines.

You guys gotta learn how to drive for a tube. It's much more work than anything else if you do it right. Put someone airborne three feet or more when the tube is traveling less than 5 mph and you've got it right. I don't think this is helping Andrew though. Andrew, as the boat gets heavier the wake usually gets bigger so don't get anything too big if you're going to ski much. Also try to get one with a wake shaper or trim plate as an option. They help. Drive them and ride them if you can.

Wow, lot's of buy my boat comments, but no one knows: how many people do you ride with, any storage limitations, what's your budget, what skill level of skiing: combo, slalom (open water vs course), what skill level of boarding, what dealers are near you, etc, etc....
