Finally have the x1 broken in properly, It was time to see what she could do.

Well almost CIE style... 2100 lbs of water and 400lbs of personnell. OMG it was fun! I don't think I can go back to the stock 800 lbs.

BTW, does anyone know how I can get better quality pictures on here. I have found that this is the max resolution I can post. I am shooting the pics with an 8MP Konica Minola Dimage A200. The pictures I am uploading have to be resized to 649X489 pixels and then compressed 9 time...
I am sure there is a better way.

I am hoping Walt will shoot me an e-mail with instructions.

How far under water is that platform? Good one Aden, but if you have love for wakeboarding then gas prices don't matter IMO..

6 people and 800 lbs stock ballast kicked up a ramp to send you more than high enough imo...2100lbs. I am sure that I would have gotten a nosebleed at that altitude.

attila, by chance, do you ride w/ tim (red tige')?

also, with all that weight up front, does it completely get rid of the lip?

No, not sure whom Tim is...

We had the real lockers full of water as well (in addition to the stock ballast)

Luke, the bow on the X1 sits fairly high because it is not angled down like the centurions/supras...
You have to really screw up to take a roller over the nose in smooth water.

Did you runs some 350's in the back next to the ballast. That is the same way my boy and I ran his 2001 x star back in the day. You have it dialed for sure. It is a good feeling isn't it.

you have to weight it down like that to get a decent wake
Old     (madchild1)      Join Date: Mar 2005       06-11-2006, 7:37 PM Reply
rock on! that's probably the only mastercraft i would buy--i'm not a fan of the local dealer. i'd love to have one of those with about 3000lbs. i've seen those wakes and i think i'm in love.

this past weekend i just put 1900lbs plus 475lbs of people in my itty-bitty response lx. I WILL NEVER GO BACK. 600 in the rear, 1000 beside the engine and 300 in the bow. it was a beautiful thing.

however, i don't ever remember putting a fuel dump switch on my boat......

Hey Johnny.... We all agree the VLX is a sick boat, however no need to for any negative energy from you! I don't think the VLX is any more fuel efficiend with the wedge

Jermy, rear ballast, CHECK!
BTW, here is proof that the X1 comes with carpeted hard tanks...no charge

Hey, I don't like the 260lb 6 foot 5 guys behind the boat, it makes the wake look small

Attila, nice to see you slammin her down!

You may have surpassed us! We have found that the wake rolls over at about 80 feet back with the swim platform that buried. Although, the pic of your wake looks pretty clean? How long was your rope?

BTW....Billy has some lead bags he would probably give you to store under the nose. That way you can do away with one of those nose sacs.

In the pics at the beginning of the post we were riding at 75. On Saturday we were riding at 70.

I would love to take Billy up on that, I need to come down to Orwood for a pull anyway. I need to see your setup again. Did you end up removing the hard tanks?
Old     (guido)      Join Date: Jul 2002       06-12-2006, 8:53 AM Reply
Yeah bro, that's looking pretty proper. You'll definitely get spoiled. We wont ride behind our boats any other way. We joke about it, but I think we actually screen other peoples boats before we ride behind them. The X2/X1 has such a sick wake. Definitely time to run some lead though. Way to much time and effort to get the bags filled/drained. Jarrod and I both run 1 extra bag in the nose (along the floor) and all the rest in lead. It's a biotch to tow that way, but it's convenient.

The X1/X2/Xstar, is one of the best hull/wake ever made. My buddies where goin to get a new X-Star this year, till last weekend we rode behind a 05 X2. They are now lookin at a X1!! Thats whats up!!!

Atilla,

Thanks for the pulls on Saturday night. I had a real good time, and I appreciate your hospitality. I'm glad I was able to provide some entertainment with all of my hard crashes.

Kristen, the pictures turned out great. The photo of me above makes me look much better than I am. You should show the photo from about a second later to show everyone how that jump ended up.

Rob- What I should do is take the time to put on the whole backroll sequence where you nailed the landing. Don't be so modest-you are good! And I picked the photo that made both of us look great. No harm in that!

Attila,

You can ride with me tomorrow after 2:PM at Orwood. Friday also, I'll be riding alllllll damn day.

Sounds like I am taking a half-day tomorrow! PM me your cell pleeze.

I might even be down for Friday unless you peer-pressure me into trying my first invert and I get myself hurt!

BTW, see if you can get the lead from Billy. I don’t expect them for free, I’ll give him whatever he think is fair and will throw them in the back my truck after we are done riding. Filling that many bags is a pain when the sun is sinking and we are trying to get in a couple of quick sets.

Thanks!

My cell is 510-295-5141. I'm expecting it to turn off at some point this week, so take my home number: 510-581-9945

You'll have to pressure yourself into trying a flip, but I will help you land it if you try.

Let's meet at Orwood at 2PM.

I'll call Billy on the lead.

Old     (tonis)      Join Date: Mar 2005       06-13-2006, 3:25 PM Reply
Attila, How much lead do you want?
Old     (attila916)      Join Date: Oct 2005       06-13-2006, 3:33 PM Reply
400 - 500lb to start... I think. I will probably split that between the front and the back until I buy one additional sac for the bow area. I kind of need the stoage space in the rear so I want to avoid using water as ballast in the lockers.
Old     (jarrod)      Join Date: May 2003       06-13-2006, 4:13 PM Reply
Joe, I have my own problems, but I'll try!

Atilla, Consider starting with 200 in lead in the back on each side and 300 in the nose. This along with a 250-500 sac in the walk through will hook it up nice.

I run the above, with an extra 400 to spare for those days that we are light on people.

That second pic says it all.

Sac in the bow. Sac in the walkway. Sac's in the rear lockers. I assume the center locker was full. X-1 = nothing but Wake.

Atilla, boat looks great slammed! Hey, what pitch prop do you have? I have about 2400lbs in my X2 and am having a hard time getting it on plane. Thanks.
Old     (attila916)      Join Date: Oct 2005       06-15-2006, 7:47 AM Reply
Stock 06 prop, do you have enough weight in the front? We had 2100 + 400lb in riders and it planed just fine.
Old     (taylormade)      Join Date: Jun 2001       06-15-2006, 8:35 AM Reply
Hmmm... I have a 4 blade prop on there but it's not planing fast enough. I have 700 pounds of lead up front, and the 300lb ski locker full so I don't feel like that's the problem. Thanks for the info.
Old     (boarder_x)      Join Date: Mar 2006       06-15-2006, 8:38 AM Reply
Scott, Attila has the smaller engine. It has less HP, but more low end torque. That may be what is helping him out.
Old     (attila916)      Join Date: Oct 2005       06-15-2006, 8:46 AM Reply
It is not a smaller engine, both the MCX and RTP1 and 350's! You make it sound like I am running a Volvo/Pentra 4.3

I'll show you smaller engine next time you are in tow.
Old     (dizzyj)      Join Date: Jul 2003       06-15-2006, 8:50 AM Reply
I've been doing similar with my '00 X-Star.

1K lead in the bow
center bag full
750's in the rear compartment.

repitched the prop, and the wake is sick sick.

now I need to plumb the back sack in so I can be lazy and just hit a couple of buttons.
Old     (boarder_x)      Join Date: Mar 2006       06-15-2006, 8:56 AM Reply
Technicallity! I know this. Mine is a 350 as well. However, not knowing his mechanical intuition, I worded it that way. Then I explained what I meant with the second sentence.
Old     (taylormade)      Join Date: Jun 2001       06-15-2006, 9:46 AM Reply
heh heh... I have the Predator, I really feel like it has to be the prop. I have 750s plumbed into the back, but when they're full, it bogs down quite a bit. I'm hoping to just have it repitched locally. Thanks for the feedback and sorry for the hijack.

scott, I Have the preditor and with my new acme prop, I run all that weight, and she jumps up on plane. Really really impressive.

Now, I am pulling around 3300rpms, but hey, its just gas
