Recommendations for boat insurance

I have been using Boat US for the past 5 years. Now with the new M/C this year I want to make sure they are competitive with other options. I have never had to make a claim (knock on wood) so I don’t have anything bad to say about Boat US.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

I just insured mine through the agent who handles my car and house. (Apparently I now have a yacht because of the horsepower but the rate was still good)

Try Geico.com, I got my best quote from them.

I got a quote from my homeowners/auto insurer and it was crazy high! More than double what I ended up getting it for through Marine Underwriters for the same coverage.

I had Skisafe but went back to StateFarm, they blew Skisafe away on coverages and for quite a bit less $.

I have SkiSafe but never checked anywhere else.

Big E I got 3X the coverage plus a higher agreed replacement value on my boat for the same price as my current Skisafe policy. SkiSafe is competative but not the best value and coverage.

Billy you are the man. BIA just beat my state farm policy by over $100 a year, but also has better coverages, ie salvage etc.. You the man..

I have gone through them quite a bit, and they always are cheaper when comparing apples to apples. Some will seem like they are beating the price, but in reality your getting less coverage.

I have ski safe because they were reccomended to me. The blew progressive away with prices but i haven't checked anywhere else. good luck

I've got Boat US however I'm not sure how they compare with some of the others. The one thing that does jack me up about them is you also have to get their annual membership (about $15 minimum) in order to keep your insurance with them. Is it me or is this just stupid. I realize it isn't much but WTF. I'm not completely sure what it provides other than getting their lame magazine and an opportunity to spend money at Boat US/ West Marine. I would rather have them hide this cost in their insurance bill so I don't know their jamming me.
