Here it is.. Just in case some of you are curious about what the 2005 product looks like. A few notable changes: tower, board racks, stainless cup holders, kenwood interior speakers, and laser etched pop-up cleats.. I will post some more pictures when they become available on other models..

no offense, but those are some god awful looking board racks IMO, what's with the "blade"

Cool! Thanks for the info. Did a dealer get that in already?

is this the same hull as the current ssv or is it the launch with a v-drive?
Old    tommyadrian5            08-24-2004, 2:32 PM Reply
now that you say it, it really does look like the 'launch', but with a v-drive, looks like more freeboard than the ssv

This is the same boat as the 2004 Launch SSV, but has some changes.. The changed the name because of some new models that are being produced. I will post pics when they become available.. Yes, this boat arrived at the dealership in Seattle today..

Have they changed the seat bottom design so it is like the new Tige'?
Old    aircox            08-24-2004, 3:42 PM Reply
What did Tige do?
Old     (ralph)      Join Date: Apr 2002       08-24-2004, 4:38 PM Reply
The roll closest to the back of your knee stays put and the centre of the seat lifts up with storage underneath. Have have a good pic but I don't want to post it in a Supra thread.

Very nice!! But what's with the boardracks?!? That cannot be correct?!
Old    zboomer            08-25-2004, 7:13 AM Reply
I'd like to see some nicer photos, and a boat with some color. The tower I'm not sure of, although it seems to be the direction everyone is going -- large diameter tubing, huge tower. I'm still trying to decide if I like these kind of towers or not.

Cup holders and cleats are nice, if minor upgrades.

I don't like the new "Supra" logo to be honest, although it might look better on a boat with some color. Looks like the one on the '04 GG edition, and I liked the big "S" on the side of the regular SSV better, but graphics do change year to year.

Anyway, there's not a lot that needs changing on the SSV, so I'm glad they didn't change a lot. It's sweet as is.

looks like they've got a system in it already, looks like a big speaker setup on the platform and a wire hanging from the tower

OK, I will fill in some of the blanks on the new stuff. We are officially introducing the 2005 product this weekend at Club Med in Florida but I will leak some of the info for you guys and girls. The new board racks actually are a swivel board rack. That is why they are attached with the "blade" as you call it. There is a button on the assembly that you push and the whole rack swivels around the back leg of the rack and stops at 2 other positions. Really cool if you see it in person. The Stainless Cupholders and laser etced cleats are standard, not options, on all 2005 Supras. There are new speakers in the boats and multiple tower speaker options for 2005. There are also 3 graphic options for all the Launch models, so if you like one more than the others it is a no charge option. I can't really comment on the other new models but there are some more new models soon to be released. Thanks for the feedback. As always, we like hearing the positives and the negatives.

I'm assuming the name change is to differentiate it from the 24 foot SSV coming out this year? Will that one be called the Supra Launch 24SSV? Jason, is this boat still in the shop today, I want to check it out...I'll be swinging by after work anyway...

David,

You may be correct about the Supra Launch 24 SSV.

Here are some more pics of the swivel board racks.

Alright, I jumped to soon in conclusions with the board racks, that IS a nice feature.... Are those a bit sturdy?

If you were in Indianapolis this weekend, you could've seen these racks on the '05 Supra 21 Launch (d-drive). Very functional.

Base MSRP will be released after this weekend, I'm sure.

Exciting stuff coming from the Supra line for '05!!

The beefy minimalist tower is sorta like the Malibu Titan in one regard, needs some stuff hanging from it to spice it up a bit.

I'd like to see one of these with Bimini, speakers, light bar, etc.

Not a very good photo but this is the 2005 during delivery about 20 minutes ago.. It has two sets of kenwood speakers..

That is a sweet boat....I like the idea of the swivel board racks, just not sure about the execution at this point. I'm not sure if it's an illusion, but from my perception, the depth of the engine bay looks short compared to comparable boats, thus creating more passenger room?

Looks to me like Supra just changed the towers on the new SSV to look a little more like the gravity games edition of the boat. I have an '04 GG and with the exception of the tower and light bar everything looks the same.

Thats a damn fine looking boat.

Jason - Do you have a blue/yellow combo coming in? Id love to see pics in that combo.

From Talking to my dealer last nite who just returned from club Med Fla tuesday - There is 2 new boats out Launch 21V - the launch with a v-drive. Boat lenght 21ft 2". The next in line is the SSV we all know and love - then there is 24SSV which is new for 2005 and has lots of options available. Including a flat screen TV with hookups for PS2 or camera. Mount the camera on the tower and watch on the TV to see what you look like flying right away!!!!!!!

Scott - PS2!!! where do you get power for it? But how about hooking up a portable DVD player (or laptop) to the LCD panel and you can watch an instructional video (higher education) then hit the water with it fresh in your mind.

Cmon Santa, I know what I want for christmas

i think they need some cross members like the ones in the little paint edit. i think they would definately look SO much better on the tower and would go with the overall look alot better

supra edit

Hey Nick. Like the looks. The reason we avoided cross members was to allow the tower to fold down so much easier. It is a one man Job and it folds into the boat. FWIW.
