need help finding a begginer board

I'm helping a friend of mine find a good begginer board that he can have for awhile and progress on. I tried looking though the board reviews but it seems no one has anything negative to say about any of the boards. Im sure all of you love your boards but it would be really helpful to hear some of the downsides as well.

i started on a hyperlite belmont, couldnt have asked for anything better. that is a great beginner board.
