I wouldn't hesitate to use any of them, but I guess my experience with Sony and Clarion has been different then 882001's.

Starting with Clarions CMD series, their chit is great. Cant wait to get ahold of one of the new CMV series head-units.

The new Sony equipment that I have been using lately, I have have no complaints or issues.

I prefer alpine. They have remotes that came out last year that the first one is wired and the rest can be wireless. So no need to run wires to the transom.

Just bought the SOny cdx-m60ui. Sony isnt junk - they're all good IMO. In fact, I think they're all very similar. Minute details are all that set them apart. OK, nuf of my opinion.

TigeMike - I have the new Alpine deck/remote. The remote is RF wireless, but the remote needs power for the back lighting. They do have a true wireless remote that looks like a key fob.

The new Alpine deck/remote are awesome

JKW,

I am an Alpine dealer, yes I know that the commands are sent via RF, but my point was that the fixed remotes need a Pos and Neg run to them in order to operate, as they are not battery operated like the fobs. So IMO, this wireless remote has no advantage over a hard-wired remote. It would have to sell itself on features alone.
