Mastercraft Warranty

I was wondering if I bought a used mastercraft boat (2004 or 2005)would you pay to transfer the warranty? I'm not sure of the price (so if someone knows please let me know) but what would it cover and would it be worth it?

There is a manufacturers warranty that follows the boat. You shouldn't have to pay unless there is an extended warranty package that was purchased in addition to.....

The manufacturers warranty I believe is just on the hull, and that is lifetime and transferable. There is an extended warranty too. I think it is around $500, and yes I would buy it. You are already spending an assload, whats 500 more for piece of mind.

Actually, there can be some charges to transfer warranty(s). The paperwork has to be done through a dealer, so that's where the charge comes in. Not sure if it varies from dealer to dealer.

It is approx $125 to transfer an existing warranty, which covers the remaining balance of the warranty. (1 year on MC wear and tear stuff, 3 years on Motor/trans, and 10 years on hull for anyone not the original owner) Original owner has lifetime hull warranty.

I believe this is correct as i was just looking into it for my 2005 X2 that is for sale.

The fee is actually $450 and that goes directly to MC. There is a form in the back of the owners manual or a dealer can get you one. You mail the $$ to MC. Mastercraft does not require a physical inspection like some companies do.

When looking at used boats it is good to check out the warranty tfer policy of the particular boat company you are looking at. They can be quile costly and require a dealer to inspect the boat before the tfer.
