Anyone ever hosted one? My wife and I are hosting a student for the next 3-6 months depending on if they find another family. He is a 16 year old from Australia. We don't have any kids ourselves yet so that might be a negative for him. The good thing is he has been here since January with a different family and has already made friends at the high school he is attending. I have met him a couple times and he appears to be a very nice, polite young man. He is eager to try wakeboarding so that is plus.

Any recommendations or concerns you can think about?

Thanks.

You might want to look into a liability release form if you take him riding.
My parents hosted someone when i was in HS. It was a neat experience.

The kid isn't from the US so you probably don't need to look into the liability release form.

Maybe ask to talk to his parents? Might be good to just touch bases. We hosted a kid when I was in HS. Fun experience. The family he was originally placed with didn't do anything, so in his last semester we took him wakeboarding, sailing, surfing, and went to Tahoe, San Diego, LA, SF, Yosemite, ect... Can't believe the other family didn't show him this incredible state.
