Are there any locations I should avoid putting my ballast intake? Will it hurt if it is near the prop? Also is 1.25" large enough for 4 T1200 pumps?

Not sure about the location, but I'd go bigger than 1.25"

I would put it at least a foot away from the prop. I could see suction on the upstream side of the prop causing problems. Mine is on the right side, just inside the stringer, about 18" forward of the prop. I use a 1.5" scupper for 4 T-1200's, no problems.

1 1/4 supports 5900 gph.

Even if the 1200's operated at max efficiency then you'll still be well within the limits.

But it may be easier to mount 2x 1inch thru hulls in different locations. The "bus" for 4 pumps may be a bit complicated.

I had the 1200's on my last boat. They are a pain to plumb because of the weird 1 1/4 thread. My new boat has all johnson-mayfair 1000 gph aerators and they are 3/4. Not a huge loss and super super easy to plumb. They are also cheaper.

3/4 supports 2100 GPH so two 1200's would not be ok.

two 800's or jabscos would work

Matt, what reference pressure are you quoting those capacities? If that's city water (~40 psi), then those numbers are good for impeller type (Jabsco) pumps. Aerator pumps are only capable of about 5 psi max head, and less in vacuum.

What about brass vs bronze for the ball valve?

you should use bronze.

I've got a couple 1 inch versions of these that I will let go for $20.

Can you tell me why I should use bronze? I can get 1-1/4" brass valves for $20. Bronze is ~$53
