The glue that holds the traction pad down on my swim platform is deteriorating and the edges are peeling up. Are there any recommendations on how to re-attach it(what type of glue)? I've contacted my dealer to check on factory replacement pad but he seems to be in no hurry to address the issue.

Thanks in advance.

i have used a spray glue for carpet (can variety from walmart)that seemed to work real well for attaching foot pads on my epoxy sailboards.. spray gingerely though because once it is on, it stays on..

JoJo: I’m assuming the swim deck traction (rubber) comes with out the sticky on it. The factory applys the double sided sticky to the rubber and then attaches it to the deck.

So this is how I would do it.

#1 pull back the entire pad. Remove the sticky from the swim deck and rubber with goof off or some kind of adhesive remover.

#2 Purchase a sheet of the double sided sticky and apply it to the rubber. Trim it and put it back on your deck.

You can also try to pull back the pieces that have lifted and try the clean and remove and re apply method to fix the parts that are lifting. I’m guessing spray glues wont work for very long on this type of job.

Jay try GatorGrip.com or Hydroturf.com or deckdots.com I like Plane smooth Hydroturf

Note on the goof off... make sure you clean that goof off well. If you don't, the glue won't stick very well.

Contact cement brushed on both surfaces allowed to let dry until tacky and stick. Note you only get one try because once it touches that’s it. When I used to have jet skis that is how the manufacture held down the traction pads. Exact same stuff as what is on swim step. Second Hydroturf use their contact cement because some cements can eat the rubber.

Any more sources? I was hoping to find a patter similar to the existing patter in the boat (hexagon).
