TWO questions for those who have tried slingshots 1. did you choose a rocker pattern that was different from the rocker type that you typically ride on "traditional boards"? 2. did you choose a size larger (or smaller) than you typically ride in traditional boards? please elaborate if you can ALSO, please give your rider HEIGHT and WEIGHT, especially in relation to question #2

1. I stuck with 3-stage, its what i've been on for a long time 2. I my last two boards have been small 132 -134 but when I got my recoil I got the 142.. just because even being bigger than normal it still was lighter 6' -- 175 lbs

i forgot to add my own... ;) Recoil 142 1. Still addicted to the bucking style of pop of 3-stage rockers ever since i first rode one. 2. Chose a larger size. normally ride 137 or so, but found i liked the 142 better (for reasons found in my review on the review section of this site). so light, hardly notice the size up. 165lbs 6ft tall

1. I went from a 3 stage CWB to Recoil (3 stage) 2. 5'11" 185, I decided to go with the 138. The description said that the weight range for it was 140-225, which I'm right in the middle of. I haven't really had any problems with the size, sometimes I kinda wish I went with the bigger one when I'm going big into the flats but still have no complaints

I have always loved and rode 3 stage boards. I stuck with the 3 stage rocker (recoil). I am 5'7" and weigh 135-140 and I went with the 134. I think it is the perfect length for me. I have ridden boards anywhere from 138 (parks) to 132 can-opener Byerly. I prefer small boards as long as they got mad pop!

I have been riding large 3-stage 141-143cm molded in fin boards for the past 4 years. I got my new Slingshot and opted for the 145 Response, Contenuous Rocker. That board is awesome, and I have been riding it at the cable park and behind the winch alot with no fins... I highly recomend the Slingshot series. I've decided that I'm going with a slingshot and cant demo. What size would you guys recommend for a 5'7" 170 lbs guy? Also I'm looking to lose another 5-10 lbs. I was looking at the recoil 138 or 142.

Hey flexnwake, You mentioned you ride your 145 Response /w D2's behind your kite.. I'm planning on doing the same thing but just wondering how you strap in to the bindings? Do you launch the kite, put it down on the water, strap into the boots and then water re-launch?

137 Response with D2s. I normally ride a 3 stage but went with the continuous cause of my last board the marius that gave me faith that you can get vertical pop out of a continuous rocker board. I really like the board and bindings. Im 145 and am about 5'9". Usually ride smaller boards like 134 or so and went a size up to get more out of the board.

Woody go with the 142.........should have nice soft landings. Seems like most people your size go with that board, or at least wish they did.

Brian You can do both. Either have your kite depowered in the water as you put your boots on or you can have it fly above and do the same thing. With the D2's and those 2 button snaps its pretty easy to get in and then start riding and lace them up as you go. Do what ever feels safe and is easy for you. The board and boot combo kills it and i can't wait for Hood River and the Rail park at the sand bar; the guys are going to have out for the summer. Should be sick. Remember with the rocker you need to be powered, to enable you to go up wind. No powered and you be slogging.

I am going to be riding the Response 145. 1. I like the smooth transition or continuous rockers so I'm sticking with that. 2. I usually ride boards around 139 cause traditional boards above that feel to bulky. I always wanted a board that was bigger, but less bulky so Slingshot it is. I find the bigger the board the more forgiving the landing is.
