Anyone tried one of these on a V215. I heard some people say they are difficult because of the hull shape. I'm hoping they can work because I'd prefer not to use the velcro or spend the money on the ronix system.

Thanks,
M

I have an 05 V215 and I'm using the nauticurl. Before that I used a homemade surfgate. It's not the easiest boat to put one on but it works. The curves make it harder. The nauticurl works good. The levers are easy to use and access. Youll need a good amount of ballast to get the gate submerged. I upgraded the two ballasts in the corners to 1100lb bags so I don't have a problem. I'm still uttering to dial in the wave. I need more weight up front to help balance out all the back weight

yes, boat will like more weight up front.
works great on my 230. there is a slight curve in the hull back there, but if you stay close to the rub rail (and run enough ballast to sink it there) it's flat enough that it works great.

I've got an 08 V215 with the big "215" graphics on the back, and I've tried both the Nauticurl and the Swell wakesurf brands. Neither of them like the graphics, and I wasn't able to get them to stay on - I had to move it in front of the graphics which is waaay too far forward. I am going to remove some or all of the 215 decal in the back and I think it will work fine. I liked both of the brands (gave the Nauticurl to a friend for his M/C, and he loves it), and I think the wake / wave is similar.

quick update on the Swell shaper and a Sanger v215 - got some help from a pro cool enough to give me some advice on where to put it! Had to put it on the lower part of the hull, where it goes flatter - just enough room to get the suction cups on there, but once you get it, its great - never came off this weekend, and the wave was pretty awesome with just my stock 250# tanks in the back full.
