This should be fun. Post up the new boats, tow rigs, stereo equipment, and other accessories you have coming for the 2013 season! I love hearing what everyone has on the way. Let's update the thread with pictures when your stuff starts to show up, or if you already have it on hand, let us see the swag!

I'll start:

2013 Malibu LSV

@Bryce, I'm going solid white, white tower, white trailer, black/brushed wheels, and white wetsounds. The interior of the boat will be a mix of grey/graphite/black.

I demo'd a monotone LSV a couple years ago..... When he was describing it to me, i was thinking "hmm, it is gonna be awfully plain. I will have to order one if i like it". By the time I was in it and floating around, I loved it. For some reason, A white/gray LSV looks awesome!! Congrats Chattwake, that thing is going to be a beauty.

You sorta can get a colored tower..... However, it is a PITA. You have to send the tower back to Gere Marie. No idea why they can't just install it that way at the factory. At that point, you may as well just find a local shop to powder coat it.

So why the change to the Bu Chatt?
Old     (chattwake)      Join Date: Jan 2010       02-22-2013, 6:38 AM Reply
Short version - My family wanted surfgate. My wife and kids love to surf and don't wakeboard. Personally, I like the A22 wake better than the LSV wake, but the LSV wake is still very very nice. Also, I got strung along by a flake buyer on my A22 (you know who you are) for a period of time during prime fall selling season, which caused me delay in moving my A22 until recently. I ultimately sold it for asking price (when I started letting people know it was available again and boatshow season hit), but by then my dealer's build slots for A22's was waaaay out into early summer. I was able to get a much earlier build slot for an LSV.

To swing the LSV, I had to settle for the standard motor and an aggressive prop and a standard bimini. Also, I will have to do the stereo in stages - first the tower stuff, and then upgrade the interior speakers/amps mid summer. I pay cash for everything, and I don't want to dip into savings. I know I'll be happy with the quality and size of the LSV. I'll miss the power of the LS3 and the functionality of the z5, but my family and I will use the hell out of surfgate. My wife, bless her heart, has a hard time driving a boat and picking up a surfer, when the boat is listed really hard to one side. With surfgate, she is much much more comfortable (and has much better results) driving a surfgate boat, because it doesn't turn all crazy and list all over the place when picking up a rider. Also, it's just better for us with kids (I have a 1.5 year old and a 4.5 year old) when the boat sits flat while surfing.

Once I actually get the boat in, I'll do a more formal write up in a thread dedicated to the boat. As usually, I have had great support by Wetsounds, my local dealer, Marine Outfitters, and Boatmate Trailers. I think everything is going to come together very nicely.

One observation. Ironj and chatt make too much money.

My addition for 2013 is a house that I got a smoking deal on. Took the gamble and now own 2 properties. Stoked to have 24 foot deep garage.

I think Malibus are the best looking boats, hands down. If we had a dealer on the lake, and I could stomach another 20k over what I paid for the Enzo, I'd like have one of those instead. Just the baddest boats on the water in my opinion.

Why the LSV and not the MXZ Chatt?
Old     (chattwake)      Join Date: Jan 2010       02-22-2013, 11:16 AM Reply
Personally, I like the LSV wake better and I think it surfs better. Also, I like having more room in the main area of the boat, as opposed to the bow. No one sits in the bow of my boat, unless it's the kiddo's. The MXZ is a super nice boat, but I'm just partial to the layout of the LSV and its wake/wave characteristics. That being said, I like the couch area on the back of the MXZ, and I think that the interior design aesthetics of the MXZ are a bit more updated.

Ordered a new G25 that should be here in early/mid April. Got the same color scheme as in the pic below. Ordered the 550xs motor. Production supposed to be complete 4/1. Didn't order tower speakers so the boat will sit for a week or two once delivered getting a little stereo upgrade.

Just starting to buy stuff. Ordered four new in-boat speakers (Polk MM651...at $93 shipped a pair it was hard to pass up). Ordered a new seat skin from Chee for one that has been cut since I bought the boat. Ordered some new storage netting since mine is showing wear.

Still need to order all the wire for my rewire project, Polk D5000.5 amp, MM1240DVC sub, enclosure, Alpine Imprint box, some new (and not off brand crap like the previous owner installed) bearing buddies then I should have what I need to get on the water. Other upgrades I'll do throughout the season as they are simple swap stuff and not project stuff. I always like having a new toy to install on the boat.

Hopefully I can squeeze them both under the helm. I've seen an MXZ with two L7's under the dash and it looked good!

Just bought this 2006 B-52 V230....I cannot wait to ride behind it! I have not owned a boat for over 4 years due to being stationed in Italy. This is one hell of an upgrade from the 18ft Larson with 135 I/O I used to have! Now all I need to do is ship my truck back to America so I can pick it up...

Diggs not in a Supra! Maybe the Mayans were just a few months off? I am assuming whatever you buy will be predominantly black?

I know... I came accross a very clean low hour LSV. It is not black and it is not a Supra, so feels a bit dirty, but none the less a super nice boat. Not a 100% decided on keeping it yet. Have couple irons in the fire, but we shall see.....
