I am looking at a Brand New never been sold 2003 Air Limited edition Nautique. The boat is pretty standard. Basic equipment. Nice trailer. Does anyone know what the dealer paid for this boat? They are asking $39,767.00. What do you think?

The NADA says the low is $36,600 and the average retail is $44,025.00. However since everyone wants the wrap around seating these models i guess are not selling as well.

it seems that you could do a little better on the price. My local dealer is putting people in new 216 air SEs for 40K.

I', thinking 39k out the door, and a few free goodies thrown in.

The 216 is really a specialty boat. It's more biased toward the skier then the boarder, I gave on some serious consideration before buying my 211. My dealer worked me a very good deal on a fully loaded Team Edition on a deluxe tandem trailer. For his in stock 2004 model year boat the deal was about $43k plus tax and license. Consider Nautiques take about a 2% increase every year and start taking deductions off if it doesn't have all the goodies like wakeboard tower, racks, ballast, perfect pass, stereo, etc. The deal you are looking at probably still has a few points of margin that you should be able to negotiate out of the price for a 2 year old boat. It's new, but is it the color you would choose? What if you decided to sell it in 2 years, you would be selling a 4 year old boat. If the 216 is really what you want I think you could find a nice 2005 model with basic equipment in the $43-45 range. That 2003 starts to look less attractive to me?
