Okay, Can some one explain to me the bet way to drive double ups. We have never done this before and I am sorry if I sound stupid but I have got different info on how to do this. Please explain! Also let me know what to look for as a rider behind the boat and also what to look for as a driver. Thank you for the help!

This is how I drive mine... when you make your turn, go like 90 degrees from your original line and drive out long enough to give yourself plenty of room to time it. Like this...

^^^^^for goofy riders.
Pull the opposite way for regular who want to hit it heelside.

What would the driver look for? and what would the rider look for?

The driver should try to go straight through the original wake at a 90 degree angle. The rider should start his cut when the boat goes through the second or third roller. This is really a timing thing and depends on rope length, speed, and how hard you cut but it is a good place to start.

My brother and I ride goofy so that is how we drive them for heelside. That would be toeside for regular stance.

that's not exactly right. I used to drive thekm like that and it works, however, the correct way is to make a 90ish degree turn before you drive the circle. That way you end up driving back down the same line you came from. Sorry about the bad MS Paint, I've got no skills

^^^ Scott, That's the way we do 'em also.
We ride on such a narrow river, that if I did it like Nick does, we'd run smack into the shore

I always thought you were suppose to cross the boat path at 90°, not the wake. If you cross the boat path at 90° then the converging wakes should also be at 90°.

the big trick is also to make the turn wide enough that you can get up to a steady speed, not still accelerating or slowing and then the rest is just aiming and doing it over and over.

From what I understand the last pic is referred to as a "dog leg dub" while the second to last pic is a regular dub. Both pretty normal. Dog leg dubs are pretty common around areas like the delta while regular dubs are more commonly used in lakes and larger bodies of water.

Doubles Ups do not have to be at 90 degrees. The angle is a preference thing. You can have an open double up which would have more than 90 degrees from where the previous poster drew the angle (less than 90 on the other side) and they are easier for the rider to time and hit but get a little less meaty the further from 90 you are.

I have a hard enough time hitting doubles at 90 so I would suggest not driving them closed if you are just starting out; maybe open a little if anything.
