I've got the kicker 6500.2 setup, but need cans for the 3" tower. Anyone have any suggestions for empty speaker cans with a clamp that size?
I know wetsounds, etc will fit, but I'd like to keep my current setup.
thanks!

Isn't the Axis tower 2 7/8" for clamps?

Yes, 2 7/8". Still having issues with pods as all I've seen are 2 1/2" max.

Matt-
There are a few guys out there that have 3" clamps. Try AudioFormz, Monster Tower, and check with David at Earmark. Then for 2.875, you can shim up with some rubber shims to fill the tiny gap.
If you just cannot find anything let me know, as I know of a couple of ways to take clamp A and fit it to Can B, etc.
Let us know!

Phil,
Will the audioformz 6.5" aerial cans clear the horns? I like them, but am worried about fitment.
Thanks!

Yeah, it does......you seem to hit all the forums and post as if you are a satisfied customer, but in actuality, you are advertising your products and plugging them looking for sales.

I'd really like to see if someone's got them in black, as the Axis tower is black. So far I'm leaning towards the aerial, but afraid of the taper at the end. The kicker horns are deep.

I do agree with TigeMike. If you're trying to sell your product, inform your potential customer, educate them on your product, and let them make up their mind. That post is a little deceiving as I took it as an unbiased/unaffiliated post. Just my 2 cents.

Check with Earmark Marine. David has pods in black with polished clamps. The Kickers drop in for a perfect fit. Even the holes are pre-drilled. His clamps come with rubber shims as well. I have a couple of the larger clamps, but cant remember what the ID is on them so I will need to check later.
Here is a front and rear of the Earmark pods

Actually we are doing a system in an Axis this Monday with size-specific 2.875" collars. I believe we are powdercoating the collars to match the tower in the same rough matte black finish. The same powder is often used on the 4WD and ATV/UTVs so we are very familiar with it.
Btw, the Mako pods that are shown above are domestically powdercoated and preferrable to all import finishes or polished that is definitely a maintenance pain.

David, I called on the mako pods and was told the clamps didn't come with that 2.875" size. I really like the look of the Mako's and would be all over them.

Matt,
They have 2.875" clamps from a different manufacturer that will adapt to those pods. Its really simple. Email Odin at odin@earmarkcaraudio.com
He is out today but can handle this for you I'm sure. I'll email him in advance and let him know what I recommend.

Did I try and sell them? I just offered an option.. And I dont fell the need to go deep in detail.. If he likes the look then he could ask questions and I would be happy to give some answers.. I am not going to do a big write up on product like some others do.. If you like the look then ask the questions.. Go over to TheMalibuCrew and you will see that I am very helpful only if you are interested in something or just want to ask questions...

I'll be having 2 pair of Bullet HP770's installed next week at Earmark. The pods will be chrome bur clamps powder coated to match the tower. I'm sure David will take pics or I will and post them

I'm gonna stick with the kicker and add 2 more of the mids. I'd be out this weekend, but there's a vendor delay. I should be seeing it Tues or Wed this week. Gonna take off 1/2 day friday to put some hours on her.
