Where you getting your pass too this year?

Normally, I get shop price on a Snoqualmie pass, but they have changed their pricing this year and aren't allowing my office, that technically is a shop not be eligible.

Not sure what I'm doing yet. Might just buy one for Snoqualmie for whatever their normal price is or maybe pull the plug and get one for Crystal or Stevens. Snoqualmie is just so much easier to get to, espceically to get turns before or after work.

Last option, take an avy class and hike all winter long.

I got my pass at Snoqualmie again. They upped the price a few weeks ago and are going to again soon. I can't wait for this winter and can't wait to try out my new banana.

hey nick - ur my go to snowboard guy: is there a girl's board that is pretty much exactly like the rome detail but a little bit longer length? thanks, and sorry for interrupting your thread!

I'm planning on getting a pass at Snoqualmie again before Oct. 31st. That's what I did last year and did a whole lot of early morning runs. That's definitely the best deal around. I think I'm gonna get the LTD cause it's pretty cheap and the only thing you can't do is ride Alpental on the weekends, last year I only hit Alpental once, spent most of the time on Central

If anyone is interested in getting some morning runs (leaving Bellevue around 8 and shredding with nobody there until 11 or 12) drop me a line...

Steve-O, I might be down for some early morning runs. I think I'm probably going to grab the LTD pass as well if my shop price doesn't come through.

Kylie- you might give the Vinyl a look. It comes in a 155, not quite as twin as the Detail. We currently have last years in a 152 available still for super cheap

I don't show this years yet. I can do some more digging around though when I get to work.

Still haven't got mine yet...need to decide which to get by Friday. What did you get Steve-O?

I got the LTD one. This year the Unlimited plus is way more than it was last year, so I couldn't do it. I did the PLUS one last year and only went to Crystal once, I'm not a big fan of there, so oh well...

Did you guys check out the Rome Premature Jibulation last year? I was thinking about going this year but from the pics i've seen i don't really know if it's worth it. Anything's better than nothing i guess.

I didn't last year, when is it? It'd be cool to check out.

I was gonna go to the Forum F Bombs thing, but saw the features that they had built and they really didn't seem too cool, and I didn't feel like waiting in the lift line because there were a crapload of people there, so I left.

But see I bet they didnt have the rule that if you have 10 or more absenses excused or not you lose credit in the classes with 10 absenses. So going away for a week is kinda hard.

What mtns have gotten snow?

Looks like Crystal and Baker might open this weekend!! Stevens and Snoqualmie's sites don't really say much besides opening soon.

Went to Crystal saturday, the conditions were good just not a ton of snow. There was still alot of exposed stuff, got a nice core shot to my new skate bannana. tickets were only 20 bucks.

yeah it's great, took a little getting used to and my legs still need a few more trips to get back to normal but it's a really fun board. Surprising amount of pop. Just need to get out the p-tex now and fix it.
Old     (misteve)      Join Date: Aug 2007       12-15-2008, 1:52 PM Reply
I hit up Crystal on Saturday too... There some pretty good powder with all the snow during the day, even though overall there wasn't a lot.

Man it felt weird being on a snowboard at first. But good!

Just saw it on their site, but Stevens opens on Thursday!

Yikes, so that core shot on my new board might be worse than i thought. There are spider cracks on my top sheet right over it so i must have hit something pretty hard. hopefully i didn't damage the core too much and can just fix this with p-tex. anyone fix spider cracks before? I just don't want moisture getting in.

That sucks bro.. Yea there was some nasty stuff sticking out on Saturday, rocks or stumps, I clipped a couple things on my HS edge, they startled the crap out of me, and almost made me go head over heels....

I was over at Hyak Saturday looking around. Both lifts have a tower down and the main has another bent one. The face is now a bowl. Only positive would be that hill now has a really steep pitch.

BTW- Saturday at Central was awesome. The morning had 6-8 new and it snowed ALL DAY!!

I guess i should have went up then, i figured the snow would be crap with all the rain that's been up there.

Sunday wasn't even bad either, at least in the park, even though it rained/misted all day.

Dave - You work ski patrol right? Are you always at Central or do you go all over the Summit?
Old     (noti_dad)      Join Date: Jul 2003       01-13-2009, 12:19 PM Reply
Central only. Every weekend/all weekend for the next few weeks while the new patrollers get trained. If you see a pack of us with a snowboarder yelling at them, it's me. LOL!

And I agree Sunday wasn't that bad either. We only lost about 20" of 8ft base from the rain.

Bump....Come on WA riders..! Are ya'll not out there? I hit Central last night and Alpental this morning. Alpental this morning was the best powder day I have had ever! Amazing, it was crazy, everyone was so stoked and in such good moods on the lift today. Everyone was super chatty and friendly on the lifts. I went by myself and ended up taking runs with people I met on the lift... So much fun, hope some WWers got up there today!

Anyone hitting Summit Central or anywhere else soon?

I'll be up at Central Saturday, i can't wait! snow all week this should be good. Any one go catch the holy oly at west last weekend? Did they keep the quarter pipe up for people to hit?

Good weekend, a bit windy at times but the newer snow was a nice change. The park is being kept up nice and i'm really liking the new culvert jib. I tried out my GNU krove 125 and while it was fun at home when it snowed it's a little too slow at the mountain; still fun to mess around with though.

Looks like no pipe this year at snoqualmie :-(. But what they're doing sounds like it will be pretty fun and the quarterpipe is a fun spring day too. I should be up again saturday to check this thing out if they got it up. From the website:

Unfortunately we just haven’t received enough snow this year to build the Superpipe. We have roughly 1/3 of the snow needed for it and with it being March already we decided it would be better to do something with the snow we do have in the pipe then nothing at all. So here’s the deal…first off we are pushing the snow we have into a quarterpipe at the bottom of the pipe (where it has been the last 3 years). Secondly we are making an old school ‘ditch’ halfpipe with highway hits, jibs and a bunch of other creative stuff to mini-shred. Not exactly what we wanted at the beginning of the year but it should still be a lot of fun.

Looks like i should have went sunday too. snow was a bit wet saturday but at least it's still getting snow. I stayed on silver fir most of the day and took a few laps through the park to check out mammafest. I'm usually wearing tie dye pants (you can't miss them) so give me a shout, it's getting harder to get people up.
