I've been planning a houseboat trip to Powell next Fall. Because my college (CU) is tight, we get a Fall Break at the end of September. Since I'm from California and my VLX is in California, it's unreasonable to drag it all the way out to Powell for a 4 day trip (especially being in college). None of my friends or their parents have a "Ski or Wakeboard Boat". I've tried looking into the Marina that I'm renting the houseboat out of along with a couple other marinas and have come up very short in terms of a Ski or Wakeboard Boat rental. I've done a houseboat trip all the way up to Lake Trinity in the middle of nowhere in Northern California and have gotten a ski boat rental. You would think that Lake Powell would have something like that to offer, but I havn't found it. Does anyone know of somewhere I could rent a Ski/Wakeboard boat on Lake Powell or in the Denver/Boulder area?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Your out of luck if your looking for a V-Drive or Direct Drive. I'm sure you can find an inboard/outboard.

Find a nice cove and build a slider. Rent a jet ski and hit it. Probably cost the same as pulling your boat all the way from Cali with the gas prices these day.

Let everyone know what cove the slider is when your done.

Rental boats, what they call ski boats, are terrible at best. In fact, I would consider them a fishing boat. They gave us one with our last houseboat rental. Some friends used it to fish. It broke down 3 times before we told them to come pick it up.

I would not pay $20 a day for one, let alone the prices they charge.

I am under the impression that there is only one type of "ski" boat that Aramark rents out, though I could be wrong.

This is just my opinion....

What are your dates Chris? We'll be going for a week the end of September as well and will be setting up sliders, kickers, and have a couple VLX's and jet skis (for the obstacle).

Launching from Wahweap Steve?

We usually(use to be always until we missed last year) do a end of Sept. first of Oct. trip....

If nothing else, it would be worth the trip just to see the set-up....

We'll be there from September 30th- October 3rd. I'm going to be making the reservation probably out of Bullfrog(because it's closer comming from CO) within the next week or so. Depending on how many people (college students) send me a deposit, we could have one or two houseboats. I'm tryin to get a CU club team worked up, so hopefully, MAYBE, we'll have a boat. I'm unfortunatly I'm the only big wakeboarder in the group that is really boat savy. I'm the only one that would be bringing gear (boards/skates/lines etc). Where are you settin up the sliders and kickers? I'd love to come check'em out! If you guys wanna party, our boat'll be the place to be. We have to represent the #1 party school even on lake Powell
