I have a buddy who is just getting into boarding. Will use the boat with a crew of 4 all newbs. Was wondering what all you thoughts were on these 2 boats. The are identical shape identical price. Both are open bows.

Both single owner boats well cared for on private lakes not really run with weight. Just curious how the boats compare wake wise, ride wise and "multi purpose" wise. Like I said they will be boarding, cruising, tubing(yes i said tubing) and just enjoying the water with their young family. This will be there first boat so wrried about nose dip and swamping and things of that sort. For what it's worth I have seen the Ski Ray's wake in vids:0 Looks legit. Froggy seemed to think so to back in the day in the video The House :-)

Any thougts on these boats would be much appreciated. I have ZERO experience behind or in either

I would take the Tristar. I wish I had more pics of the wake for ya, but I didn't have a camera last season. These are of my buddy Tim, shreddin on White Bear Lake last summer in my Tristar 190. (7 people + 1180 lbs ballast)

I have a 95 ski ray closed bow and it throws a good wake when weighted.

His price range is 9k roughly
It's a tight budget for an open bow comp boat but it can be done. The biggest reason the Ski Ray is playing a factor is beacuse it quoted specs are 21ft/11 inch length and a larger beam than the MC. I understand this is w the intergrated platform, but that is still longer the specs on the MC with the platform included as well. My biggest concern os the transom of the MC. Looks super flat and shallow. Thinking once he throws a decent amount of weight in there he might be in trouble. Like I said these are two older boats I have zero experience with. Was a Nauty guy before switching and it seems like even my 88 2001 and sport Nauty's had a little more transom depth
heres the link to the ski ray

Here's the MC from the pics and talking with the owner it looks like a clean well maintained ride. Again can only judge from pics for now.

Tristar 190, i had one a few years back and with enough weight you will be happy. The wake shape is nice.

That Tristar is Very Nice.. I've heard people saying water can come over the bow, but I think it depends on how its driven. I'm not experienced just sharing what I've heard. I'm looking for a Tri Star and if this boat was in the Seattle area I would buy it today Cash!!!
