Well boys... it's that time of year again. The only true sport worth watching is back.

This week begins my glorious Hawks march towards their Superbowl destiny. Our season will kick off with the crushing of Bolts in our first pre season game. You are all welcome to sit back and watch as they provide a clinic of pure football perfection and flawless execution.

LOL, Kinda like 16-0 last year?

If you want to see football as it was mean to be played, watch the Beagles this year. They were gonna be in the top 3-4 in the league as it was and now that Jim Johnson died, they have a chip on their shoulder and something to play for.

OI, at least you have a QB that has shown some potential going into this year. I don't think that Cassel plays as good on the Cheifs as he did on the Pats last year but it is a start.

Come on Cliff. This tread cannot get off to the right start without your game by game analysis leading to the usual 16-0 record.

Don't disappoint!

Hawks go 10-6 win the NFC west.
Eagles go 11-5 win the NFC east
Vikings go 9-7 win the NFC north.
Saints go 10-6 win the NFC south.
Packers & Cowboys get the wild card.

Surprised at those of you who are implying my loyalty may have waned. My Hawks will crush the West, move on to win the NFC handily and finish by crucifying whichever unsuspecting AFC team happens to be standing in our way at the Superbowl!

Cowboys have Wade for another year so we're not even thinking about the playoffs. Each week will be a struggle just to not be a repeat of last years season-ending Philly disaster.

Next year he's gone so maybe we'll have something to look forward to then.

Unfortunately I'm a Raiders fan...what do you guys think about Hayward-bay now after all the Crabtree drama....I kinda feel better about the pick, but the real question is if can the man can run fast enough to catch up to Russell's overthrows?

I may wear my Hawk goggles too tight but I'll never, ever, ever give up, or turn on my team!

The season hasn't even started yet and you have already written off your Boys.

Meh... Dallas fan.

BTW,

I'm ready for that infamous Seattle vs Dallas bet this year. They're gonna spank your pathetic self involved premadonnas this year!

Go Hawks!

This has come to be my favorite time of year next to Christmas. Cliff should charge money for his predictions since they're as funny as going to a comedy club on Saturday night.

Don't keep us waiting Cliff, give us predictions of each game! (Somehow the Seahawks will win them all)

Cowboys kick ass - I mean kick off in 30 minutes against the faiders.

Romo dropped the trailer queen, played a few rounds this summer and is ready to thread the needle to ... well... nevermind - that's a problem.

But if we can keep the running game working, tight ends picking up first downs and at least something happening at wide receiver - and make some field goals - it'll make those 60 dollar six packs and 90 dollar pizzas go down oh so good at that new stadium.

Steeler's D should keep them in most games with their offense being more inconsistent due to a very average offensive line. The line is young, hopefully they can improve as the season goes on. I think Baltimore may take a step back after losing their defensive coordinator and Bart Scott.

I haven't seen them play yet, but I guess the first team for the Packers, on both sides of the ball are looking stellar. I expect great things from this team this year.

From one article I read:

"Is it possible to peak this early?" a personnel director for another NFL team said at halftime. "They are one of the best teams I've seen. Very consistent. Very disciplined. Very detailed."

Nice! Go pack!

Well I learned one thing last night. Hawks 2nd string offense is better than any defense the Raiders can put on the field. I'd say I learned that Aaron Curry is a beast but I knew that one already. He was all over the field last night. Bring on the Lambs.

More trouble for S. Merriman....

http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/10031914/Cops:-Merriman-accused-of-choking-Tila-Tequila

SAN DIEGO (AP) - Authorities say San Diego Chargers star linebacker Shawne Merriman has been arrested on suspicion of choking and restraining his girlfriend, a reality TV star, as she tried to leave his Southern California home.

San Diego County Sheriff's Lt. Gary Steadman says 27-year-old Tila Tequila signed a citizen's arrest warrant early Sunday, charging Merriman with battery and false imprisonment.
Tequila was taken to a hospital. Her condition was not immediately available.

Merriman, 25, was taken into custody by deputies who responded to a distress call at his home in Poway, north of San Diego.

Tequila, whose real name is Tila Nguyen, is best known for her MTV dating reality show, "A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila."

Just got back from NWWF so I'm a little late.

I loved the Raider stomping.

Now all I have to do is sit back and wait for Mr. Williams and Mr. Umali to taste this seasons first spoonfuls of defeat against my Hawks.

Care to put a little wager on the game???

The Steelers are going to live and die with the passing game this year. They should go with 3 wides all game, then maybe they could run the ball from a spread formation. They certainly have a hard time running from a power formation.

Congratulations to the Steelers for improving to 100-0 with Bill Leavy as the head referee. Only kidding....kind of. When will people learn that you can't give Big Ben all kinds of time to pass the ball he'll just pump fake and pick the zone apart.

I realize that I watch games with Steeler goggles, but what calls did the Steelers get last night? The Steelers didnt tell the Titan's left tackle to start forming a pocket before the snap. The one iffy call I saw was when Polamalu was called for interference when he had inside position on a ball thrown to the middle of the field. Luckily it was offset with the illegal formation call on the left guard.

Rich, I was messing around with my Bill Leavy comment I didn't see anything fishy with the officials last night. I'm sure as a Steelers fan you know what I was hinting at though. I know Cliff does haha.

Manzo,

I agree that they need improvements before the playoffs especially on the offensive line. Tomlin needs to face the facts...the Steelers are a passing team. Once they accept that, they may be able to set up the run with their passing game.
Old     (seattle)      Join Date: Mar 2002       09-11-2009, 5:41 PM Reply
Didn't even realize the Maddon NFL curse continued last night. Polamalu is injured for a least a few weeks maybe more. I'm actually starting to believe it's true.

Yep since Polomalu and Fitz shared the cover they will only miss half the season. Can't fool the Madden curse by putting two on the cover. Too bad Farve wasn't on the cover for a second year in a row then we'd get to see his shoulder fall off in a game.
