We have a 2003 X30 and have taken meticulous care of it. It has over 600 hours on it but still runs like new. For some time now, the stiching has began to split and its not on all of the cushions but several of them.
How long is this normally warrantied and what are my options. I just don't know why the splits are going all up and down the stiching? Thanks in advance for any input.
check with the dealer. I have heard sometimes mc will give you the skins and let you pay for the install, and I have also heard of them saying tough luck. You can call Greg Clowers at the mc plant 423 252 1022. He is in charge of customer complaints.
i have a 2002 xstar and i have had the same problem. mine is mainly on the section above the engine.
i take great care of my boat also. it started at the end of the '05 summer and my dumb self mentioned it to the dealer and said i wanted to take care of it 2 winters ago and didnt. i then mentioned it again last summer and i have been unable to even see my boat since august of '06. i wonder if i have a chance at getting the skins now.
This is a well documented problem on MC's, The same thing happened on our 01 X Star. I would head over to the tmcowners site and search over there, those guys seem to have had the best luck with getting things replaced.
