Binding slime?

I use washing-up soap to get into my binding, but i've heard that's harmful for the bindings.

What other slime/soap can I use except binding slime?

Lots of previous discussion on this. Two camps, one pro binding lube and one skeptical and uses soap.

Some binding glues can be damaged by some soaps.
Most people never have a problem with soap.
Soap can be an issue in some waterways.
Most binding lubes are easier on the waterways than most soaps.
Most binding lubes dissapate quickly so you don't come out of your binding due to soap residue.

The safest thing to use is a surfactant (Moose Juice, et al.). The easist soap to use is dishwashing soap.

Personally I use Moose Juice or Lava Lube and avoid soap. Because of my prior law enforcement background, I don't carry soap on the boat. Many people apply soap to the water when they overfill their tank or pump out an oily bilge. This is a violation of federal law. Whenever we saw a soap bottle on a boat, we took a bunch of samples to determine if they had dispersed the oil into the water column for a possible federal case.

If you do use soap, dilute it and put it into a spray bottle. You will use less, not have the slippery soap feeling while you ride nearly as much, and won't draw the attention of goverment officials. However, I don't have a clue how Holland polices its waters. Holland, MI, yes. Not the Netherlands.

Ride hard.

I use the CWB binding slime, it works good for me. If you use too much soap it can leave a foamy residue in the binding while you are riding. Any of the binding lubes tend to rinse off very quickly/completely.

Most of Delta crew up here rolls Newt Juice. The owner has been HEAVILY involved in grass roots for the last 5 years or so. He also sponsors a ton of local kids, camps, and events. It is also non toxic, and einvro. friendly. I believe in supporting the people that support the sport, and Newt Juice is a fine representation of that.

Soap Buddy! It works great and smells good!

I use Boot Butter by BabesBoat. It works really well and also smells good. My buds are starting to catch on to this, but complain it's hard to find. If you want to try it, go to their website.

The least expensive and most available surfactant based lube is carpet cleaner solution. Spray bottle for application.

Also, check with a chemical supply house for a bulk surfactant. You are looking for something without petroleum distallates. Look on the MSDS for possible skin problems. These surfactants are used in shampoo, grease fighting cleaners, etc.

You can also use the lube used by electricians for pulling wires though conduit. Cut 50% with water and spray it. Avoid the ones with any pariffins (waxes). It will gum up your bindings and make them slick.

You can't buy the slime online in the Netherlands? I'm sure you could find some online store to order it from. I use it and one bottle has lasted forever. We can't use soap in the lake because it increases the chemical levels or something. I'd suggest looking for the slime and be a good buddy to your water...

Foam shaving cream, the cheaper the better. Cheaper than other options, and washes off clean without the slippery soap feel once inside your boots.

Just buy some CWB hinge techs and you will never need (soap,slim,shaving cream ect.) Ever again, dont need any.

Dishwashing soap with water in a spray bottle is the best option,

I don't have the Cwb high tech boots, i've the 3ds, but I want a good alternative for binding slime?

Shaving cream may fade the color of your bindings if you leave your board in the sun a lot...beware.

Most of the riders on our cableway use washing soap diluted with water in spray bottles. We choose a greasy and not too aggressive one (which is actually not good for washing). So far there aren't any problems with bindings and environment (all riders together use no more than 1 liter soap per month which becomes 10-15 liters lube when diluted with water). Apply lube both to the bindings and your feet, then, when you get into the bindings, simply put your board and bindings in the water to wash the soap away. If you don't wash it away, it will wash away till your next round.

Go with the soap. But don't use expensive dish-washing soap, because they are way too aggressive both to your feet, your bindings and the lake. Buy some cheap or industrial soap and dilute it with water.
