Does the Player 2004 have a double-concave base?

It seems to be implied, but not really confirmed. Also, i've seen the 2005 version and the double-concave aint all that pronounced, how "hard" are the landings compared to say the LF Substance or Valhalla?

I would say that the Player lands a little harder then the Valhalla. I would also add that the Natural is the latest incarnation of the Player and it lands as soft if not softer then the Valhalla. The spine in the Natural is much more pronounced.

Yeah I've noticed that about the Natural, and given the choice, I'd suggest it to my girl. She's tried my Valhalla 138 and loves it, but is really turned off by the 05 133 graphic, and the 06 ones arnt in yet down here. Had the option of a cheap 04 Player which she has demo'ed ages ago so just asking for a refresh of memory on it.

i ride the 04 player... i love it... nice locked in feel... i find it a little slow, and yeah th elandings are a little hard... but not too bad... if you want i can go grab a picture of mine for ya..

Correct, I've rode the Player since the first year with the Dice/red Ions. It is the exact same, amazing board.

I also have a 03 LF Trip 33.5 just sitting around on the other wall (not in the picture) I have been trying to sell... if you are interested in that board I could sell to you for a great price, it's just been sitting around my room for 3 years.

The Player is my ride, and I absolutely love it. They MIGHT have made some changes in it from 03-07, but trust me - nothing big. The rocker and shape is still the same, the changes, if any, are minute.

Ouch! lol... At least I tried! Oh well - some family friends said they might be interested in it, I'll probably just give it to them. Always a good cause to support, the expansive (and expensive :-)

I can take some pics of my Player when I get home, in 2 hours from now. Which do you want, the 06 or the 04? Both should have the same, I guess... I honestly think the 06 base isn't too hot, but it's my slider board. I'll be riding the Natural in the picture this year.

And what the 06 Player lacks in base, it makes up for on the top.. I think its the sickest graphics yet!

Any other pics you want? Have you checked out the 06 Argons yet? They are insane! I thought the 05 ones were good, but they ripped lots... I went through about 3 pairs. They fixed ALL of the ripping problems with the 06 ones, and they fit a bit better. I am so looking forward to testing them. (In case you can't see, the 06 Argons are on the right side of my dresser, all black with chrome detail in the middle)

Fabian,

Did you also check out the Atla? It is the Demented sized down for women with a more girly graphic. It has progressive rocker so it's faster the the Player but it still pops great because of the widened tip and tail. It also has a large center spine that makes the landings really soft. The beveled rails make it more forgiving then the Player which has very sharp, cupped rails.

Aden,

You will love those 06 Argons. I rode them most of last season and they are so comfortable. My riding time used to be dictated by how long my feet could stand being in my bindings, but with the Argons I can ride till my arms want to fall off and my feet never cramp up or loose feeling!!

Hey Aden, I'm riding the 05 LF Transits now and I'm still pretty happy with them, no reason to change for the time being (just had a new set of overlays changed over due to a minor defect). And they look pretty sweet with my 05 Valhalla. I honestly love the graphics on it, feel its a work of art, though I must say the 06 133 Valhalla comes pretty close to topping it.

As for pics, just a pic of the 04 base would be enough. Would like to see how "flat" / "concave" the base is. Thanks

Jakober, its a long story but she's coming off an LF Angel (basically a Team) and doesnt really like the feel of the board, much prefers the snowboard feel of the Diva/Substance (LF boards a tad easier to demo around here). SO yeah, thats the reason we havent really looked at the Atla/Demented since it appears to be pretty similar to the Angel. Though I know its wrong and we ought to demo demo demo before making a conclusion.
