Do I need to do anything to my boards for winter?

This is my first season wakeboarding, I have acquired a few boards this year. I wanted to know if I need to do anything to store them properly for the winter. I.e does my boots need to come off. Is there any kind of cleaner that is recommended for the boots or board. I live in NC and they will be kept In the garage. I heard one guy say he shrink wraps his during the winter. Thanks for any help. Just want to be ready for next spring.
