So I just got home from picking up my new X1. I ran the boat from the flush kit when I was done using it. I noticed there was water coming out the shaft penetration; from inside the boat to outside. Is this normal? My old direct drive didn't do that.

Yes it's normal to get SOME water from the shaft, but if you are getting excessive amounts (you are bilging water), then you need to have the shaft packing redone. Likely, if its a new boat, I wouldn't worry too much. Or, I would just call the dealer.

If you have a water cooled shaft seal that is where the water exits the boat.

That must be it. I assumed it could be something like that. But it freaked me out, so I figured I should ask.
