Go ahead and play with the forum any way you want in this area. Does anyone know hot to post more than just a thumbnail image?

Wow, that jacked things up.

I was actually referring to a file you would upload from your local machine. Can you do the same thing with that?

You can upload it to photobucket and do it from there.

If you upload an image from your local machine, anything over 100px will be made into a thumbnail.

And 5 uploads per post.

Is there any way to change this? The photo threads in the Photo/Video forum aren't going to be very fun to flip through if we have to click on every single photo upload to see it larger than 100px

More specifically, any photo uploaded from your local machine with an edge over 100px in length will be thumbnail'd.

I like the thumbnail idea. If you want to view the picture, then click it. The thumbnails make the pages smaller and you don't have scroll down as far in order to get to the next page.

is it really that much more to scroll past pics?

If you're in an image heavy thread it's nice to be able to scroll down and see everything without having to click around, wait for it to load, close it, click to the next one, wait for it to load, close it, click on the next one, wait for it to load, go back up to look at a previous pic that is similar, wait for it to load, crap that was the wrong picture, close it, click on another one, wait for it to load...yuck

I can see this feature being handy on a mobile version of the thread since it'll help with load time, but I don't think I like it much here. Or, can you make the thumbnail cutoff be 800px instead of 100px? That will help preserve the margins, and if you wanna see it bigger you can still do that.

No, just a preference. I size my screen around the various forums that I visit and so far, all vBulletin forums are within the normal screen size. It's when someone brings in a picture from another site that is bigger than the normal input that extends the width of the screen past the normal parameter.

I do believe I have it dialed. Pics will resize to 700 wide and 1500 tall. Must be less than 150k.

I wonder why some photos say "attached images" and some don't?

Here is how the photos work. You click the paperclip icon/attach button and load up whatever pics you want from your hard drive. These photos are now attachments and if you post your message now, they will show up at the bottom of your message in an attachments box. This is also true for any other file attachments you might have, such as PDF files.

However, if you'd like to place your photos withing the text of your message, put your cursor where you want the photo to go, go back up and click on the paperclip icon/attach button and choose which photo you'd like to place in that spot. The system will place a little piece of code into your message to indicate where the image will be placed. That image is no longer an attachment and will not appear at the bottom of your message. It will appear wherever you placed it in your message.

I don't really see a reason to ever place photos as attachments. I always put them inline with my message so that I can caption them. That's the way we did it on the old system.

Time is working just fine for me. Check your user profile in the Settings section and make sure your time zone is correct. Sounds like you're on Mountain time.

I've got the same issue with the time. I'm about an hour north of San Diego and I have my zone set to Pacific but the post times are all an hour ahead as well.

Checked my time zone, it is on Pacific Time, but still getting post times one hour ahead.

In that case, I haven't the foggiest idea since I'm in the same time zone and mine works fine. Anyone else having time problems?

Same here. I posted it on the forum last week sometime. David said it was fixed and I didn't pay any more attention to it. Seems to be off again.

Is the daylight savings time on or off?

Ok, I think I figured it out. It looks like the time zone setting in your profile isn't syncing with the time zone setting on your forum settings. I just manually set both you guys to Pacific Time, so it should work for you now, but we'll have to add this one to the fix list.

This is a test... it's 11:21 AM my time right now.

Thanks, Dave!!!! It works now
