It's time for a new thread for a new year. Too bad its freezing outside, or I would be shreding right now.

Yeah Man, I really wanna run my boat soon as I have not run it in 3 weeks which I hate doing. Also has anyone taken any "freeze" precautions. There is a thread in the main forum about a florida freeze warning but I looked at weather.com and the lowest it is going to get is 36 which is cold as b*lls but not freezing.

Rather be safe than sorry. Just start and fresh water flush your boat each day. That's what I've been doing with my boat. We are going to cable today if anybody wants to go haha.

You're going to the cable today Clark? Are you kidding? Is it even 40 degrees? Haha

Clark you are a crazy fool.

I'm headed back from Oklahoma right now and it's 19degrees here!

Your boat sits in direct sun DC, cover it and I would think you should be fine - but, its your boat man- do what makes you comfortable, safer is definatly better than sorry...
It was 20 something on the farm today. Total BS.

When u think about it.... I will have cable to myself and am not doing anything but a-frame/ fupa/ roll to reverts round corners, dance floor, and taking a stroll acrosss the magic rainbow where I will probably fall randomly in the middle of the lake due to my board having no nose... Like last time haha WHO'S COMING WITH ME?
Old     (stephisto47)      Join Date: Dec 2009       01-04-2010, 8:53 AM Reply
I'll prolly come hang... but no riding. You're crazy man. I like you! But you're crazy.

It was pretty chilly but once the fullsuit started doing work, it was not too bad. We had a big fire setup which was awesome along with the good water :-D

Any of you guys headed out there today or this week? I'm gonna be there in a few and am goin tomorrow and maybe friday or sat

I might head out there in a few... It's really effin cold out though and the heater in my house is working flawlessly...
Old     (steelesrt)      Join Date: Aug 2009       01-07-2010, 7:25 PM Reply
lol. even a drysuit doesn't help when the temps are below the 100* rule. water is 55+35= way to effin cold.
Old     (clarkduh)      Join Date: Aug 2009       01-07-2010, 9:45 PM Reply
A drysuit would be perfect. Some scuba booties, gloves,... Perfect!! A fullsuit does the trick for now though

im planning in going to the university of tampa next year. how hard is it to find a pull??

A lot of us on here have boats, any of us are always willing to pull any one. Hit me up when you get down here 727-480-7773. I'm always willing to pull. We run about 4.2k ballast on my boat.

Alright fellas, I was OK with it hitting 30 degrees and leaving my boat OUTSIDE storage, but its supposed to be 25degrees saturday night and it has me worried..

What is everyone else doing that has outdoor storage? Am I good?

Anyone got an extra garage they wanna rent me for a week?
Old     (taitrt)      Join Date: May 2009       01-09-2010, 11:16 AM Reply
I put a little shop light in my engine bay, I'm sure it will warm it up at least 5-10 degrees... hopefully the gas fumes won't ignite.
Old     (jaybee)      Join Date: Aug 2007       01-10-2010, 9:29 AM Reply
^^^^^^^ Exactly what I did.
Old     (clarkduh)      Join Date: Aug 2009       01-10-2010, 9:29 PM Reply
I did the lights as well, put boat in water but tied up, just gotta watch tides. Run it every night a couple times for about 20 minutes. Use all accessories, run water etc. Weather is really cold, had ice on the dock, about fell off. Anybody wanna ride?
Old     (taitrt)      Join Date: May 2009       01-11-2010, 1:51 PM Reply
Started my boat up today and it was being real weird... not holding idle at all, hopefully it's just water in the gas or something.

I probably won't start it again until it warms up and I can really figure out what's going on.
Old     (jaybee)      Join Date: Aug 2007       01-11-2010, 2:22 PM Reply
^^^ Yeah I am just waiting for the cold to disappear then gonna take it to the dealership to have it checked and make sure everything is good. I wanna start it but don't wanna run the 4 week old gas through it. Gonna look into syphoning options soon as this weather passes.
Old     (bflat53212)      Join Date: Mar 2003       01-12-2010, 4:18 AM Reply
What's up guys?

Personally, I wouldn't touch it until it completely warms up naturally with the weather. Parts are cold or near freezing right now. Forcing it's parts to move now by trying to start it is just begging something to happen, in my opinion. Once everything is warm and hopefully drive. Chances are it will start right up.
John, you shouldn't need to put in new gas, unless for some reason you have a mechanic telling you otherwise. If you have a problem with anything, it will most likely be a dead battery or some type of fluid level problem. Just remember to charge and if you want check fluid levels before going out next time.

All just my opinion, and I'm no mechanic.
Old     (jaybee)      Join Date: Aug 2007       01-12-2010, 7:30 AM Reply
Thing is I didn't put any stabilizer in it and thats what has me worried as I have seen people say that with the way gas is today it is only good for about 3 weeks. At the end of the day Liquid Sports takes ridiculously good care of me so worse case scenario I can just take it to them to fix whatever breaks.
Old    supraguy            01-12-2010, 8:20 AM Reply
The cold weather shouldn't effict hot your boat runs. I live in the NorthWest and take my supra out will it's between 30-40 degrees out and runs just fine, takes a little longer to warm up but other than that no problem. If you boat turns over slow when it's cold your battery may be getting weak.... Just my 2 cents.... Matt I am hopping to be there on the 30th of Jan you able to ride that saturday ?

Yeah too bad the wind was so bad up this way, I wanted to try and get out. Today doesn't seem too bad though.
Old     (clarkduh)      Join Date: Aug 2009       01-19-2010, 11:56 AM Reply
I had to do all that to my boat because it's a cabin boat, freshwAter pump and generator need to be run along with the Bathroom and kitchen crap. And that stupid thing is hard to keep running good especially when temps at my house were in the low 20's. Anybody up for some riding? Weathers pretty nice

I just might do that. I really need to get back out there...

Just so you guys know, I went to take my boat out yesterday but the ramp was so filled with sh*t that I could not even get the boat in so if you are planing on using the boat ramp, make sure you bring a shovel and rake as you will need to make a clearing to get your boat in. I can't tell you how pissed I was to drive over there for nothing.

Nasty. Glad I didnt drive all the way down for that. really though - Sorry I didnt make it down to help you out - It was the first quiet weekend at home with my kid, we needed it!

also just so you guys know. I bought a heavy duty rake for the boat ramp so if you ever need it it is just inside the fence in the front yard of the house to the left.

"perforated my eardrum"

Damn dude! You've got to stop doing that, how many times is that for you? You might have to start rockin' a helmet with ear flaps if you want to be able to hear later in life.

"its been pretty nice out lately"

Wow! It's been just crap over here. I think today is the first sunny day in about a week. It's been damp and cold.

I think I'll just keep hitting the gym for now and be in shape to ride when it gets back to being nice. I'm down about 25 lbs since the last time I rode.

Im with you Skubz. I've been at the Santos / Vortex Mountain Bike Park during this cold snap. I will probably keep riding there until the water really warms up! Besides - the more I hit these dirt jumps - the better I get!!

I know. This is my 4th time. last time I did it i swore I would never ride without earplugs again. That lasted about a week . Def. going to be more serious about it this time.

Deecee, I wasn't sure if you remembered who you were. Any day now and baby girl Kai will be joining us into this world to learn how to rip on every board imaginable. Tami is doing good, just been pretty tough on her. Thanks for offering to get my boy out on the water, he will stoked to ride. You can expect a post from him soon and Tami and I will probably be coming back to visit family in a couple months so I will hit you up then. Take care brotha and I hope your girl and dogs are doing well.

Anyone feel like heading to McCormicks on Sunday, I'm driving down from NJ tomorrow and after playing in a golf tournament I was going to head over to the cable and shred for a few hours. Anyone interested in meeting up/watching me eat crap on their new features.

Hey guys, I'm gonna be in Clearwater Beach for SB and will be going to McCormicks for a day around the 11th of March. What should I expect for air and water temps? I only have a fullsuit, should I bring just in case?

Also,I will be in the New Port Richey area for a day if any of you guys ride anywhere not too far from there and would be willing to give me and my buddy a pull on the 10th? We would throw down for gas, help with clean up and whatever else, and be very appreciative.
Old     (tylerc)      Join Date: Jun 2006       02-16-2010, 6:31 AM Reply
Ray, hopefully it's gets warmer in a hurry, Sunday was brutal. I was taking the long walk back to the dock just to stand in the sun longer. I'd bring the full suit just in case, better to have it and not need it.

Yeah, how was the water temp? I was out there the second week and even though the temps were bearable at mid-50s, the water temp was a killer

The water was cold, not brutally cold, but the first crash definitely took my breath away a little bit. Once I was in it really wasn't a huge deal, but I was definitely not stoked to spend any large amount of time swimming around.

Ray hit this thread up when you come down. It better be riding conditions by mid-March. This is just ridiculous right now. I keep thinking any down now, but I have been saying that since the 1st of the year. When it does warm up, it usually warms up really quick. You will probably be able to skin it, but like Tyler said, better safe than sorry.

Hey guys, I'll be in town March 16th through the 21st and would love to catch a boat set while there, if anyone is riding. I have $ for gas and help clean up. Appreciate it. Also hitting some cables, planning on McCormics, OWC, and The Projects on the 2.0, If anyone is interested in meeting up to ride cable that would be cool.
