This is my swim platform's best day. TeakGuard is the product that I used and I was SHOCKED at how it turned out.

I'll put two more coats per the instructions but wow the look is great. It got a UV blocker in it and is suppose to last a year of usuage. Only time will tell.

How long do you have to wait between coats, and getting it back in the water?

Saw it on the web and ordered it after talking to owner about what it does. I have used various othr products but this looks like it a winner.Do a search for TeakGuard. You'll find it no problem.

15 minute between the first 2 coats. I have to wait a day to put the last to coats. Once its dry in the water it may go. The stuff is a "polymer resin base that allows moisture to escape by breathing through the finish. Uses combination of of UV block and reflectors to potect teak....will not allow mold or mildew to grow blaa blaa blaa"

You did a great job sanding and cleaning. That is where you get the results.

I used Starbrite and got a similar result but only because I spend hours sanding it.

I used Starbrite on mine with no sanding and had great results.

I second Starbrite. Our teak was looking a little gray for some reason so i took it home one weekend and it didn't take much time or effort to get it looking brand new.

I teakgaurd my platform every two years.

If not for some scrapes from board fins, I would get much longer inbetween coats.

Just touching up the scrapes doesn't protet as much as a full cleanup and application.

great job!!! looks perfect. i remember thoughs days. had to do the same thing when i bought my first nautique. i will share a little tip i was given, after i finished cleaning up my swimstep and applied all the teak oil and stain etc. because the price of teak oil was fairly expencive at the time for me. i would rub a thick coat of vegi oil on it after every use. worked great. just a cheaper thought for maintnace. looks great though
