That is the new board rack. We use it for surfing and securing small children on top instead of in our way on the seat.

I thought maybe the rack was a new bimini that folded up. I think it would be nice to have a bimini that could be hinged at the rear and fold up when you want, then fold back for coverage of the passengers in the rear area of the seating.

If you see that bimini in person and how functional it is you would probably give it a little more respect than "ghetto". It's one 3K option I wish I had.

I saw it at the Seattle boat show a few months ago... I still can't believe they actually make that thing. I mean really... a $3000 option just to be able to carry more stuff?

Call me a jerk, stupid, illogical, or young... but that thing's just absurd.

Ok you're going to shore camp for a holiday weekend, you invite say 16 people (the boat's capacity), and want to not only bring your friends but some of their stuff too. You might want to bring food and firewood. Beer? Who knows. Maybe even a tube for the littlest ones or windy afternoons.

I think that bimini might have just a bit of usefulness. Especially if it's on a 16 person boat.

damn, that thing is loaded to the gills with options!!!!
Old     (heem)      Join Date: Dec 2005       04-17-2006, 12:17 PM Reply
For $3000 I would expect a small sherpa to carry my board for me, but a very cool feature none the less.

We leave the small children home, although if properly strapped to that bimini their screaching yells for help provide adequate audio warning. Much like a siren.

Love the both but no thanks on the carrier tent thingy mijigger. I understand its functioning but it looks cheap and sorry...ugly. Maybe next year they can redisgn a better looking model. the mastercraft model is better looking. I believe someone had one on a white xstar and it looked great.

Sweet boat though!

Rich,
That boat is SICK. I like the rims and the red accent on the black trailer. NIce touches. The bimini is sick, Storage is always nice.
Very sick boat man.
