Getting sick of the stock ballast. How big of a fat sack can you put into the rear lockers?

Do a search, this topic has been covered plenty of times. Search for 06 X-1, 05 X-2 or earlier X-Stars, they are all the same boat since 2001 I think. I am still trying to master the stock wake, lol....

two 550's in the vdrive compartments, 550 in the nose and the ballast should throw you the PERFECT wake

Kyle's setup personally doesn't work for me. It sees to create some wash 80 feet back. I run stock ballast + 200 in lead in the very back on each side (450 total each side). 300 in the seating area behind the drivers seat. 300 in lead in the nose, and a 550 in the walk through/nose. I don't ike the X1 wake with too much in the back, and too little in the front to balance it out.

Depends how many people you are normally riding with. If you typically run with 6 people or so, you will need less extra ballast in the back and more in the front.

Play around a little when you are running with your regular crew, you will find the sweet spot in no time.

You pretty much cant go wrong with a slammed X1, one of the best wakes around.

Hey Derek we used to use about 400lbs of lead under the seats in the bow and a 500lb sack on the floor in the walkway. The further foward you have the sack the rampier the wake is the further back you set it the more vert it gets.
If you don't mind stepping over a few sacks and really want some fun have one 500lb sack in the walkway and one 500lb sack sideways in front of the back seats. thats an insane wake

Do the Pro-X series V-Drive sacs completely fill the rear storage lockers?? Also has anyone put the integrated bow sac under the forward seats?

I removed the stock tanks and plumbed in Pro-X 750s. They absolutely fill up the rear lockers. I can take pics tomorrow if you'd like. The nice thing is that I can fit my surfboard and wakeboard in the locker when the sacks are empty.

I run the stock locker sack and have 700lbs of lead in the nose... great wake. I do agree with Jrod that the boat doesn't need quite as much rear weight as everyone wants to throw in it. I usually don't fill my rear sacks unless I'm surfing. I actually asked this same question about 2 months ago because the search function wasn't working very well at the time.

Wakeslife, yeah, if you search, you'll find where someone did a great pictoral on the installation of the bow sack.

Does anyone know where the pictoral of the bow sack installation is? That would help a lot.
Thanx

I just ordered the Pro x 400 sacks to put in the back in place of my hard tanks. My plan is to run these, and run them all the way towards the back to compensate for 50 pounds I am loosing. I'll post pictures when it's done. I may even have some lead for sale.

Ryan,

I have a set of tanks for a 205V/X-2/X-star if you're looking.
