Does anyone have experience buffing their trailer?

My trailer usually sits out in the sun (boat stays on lift) and has faded. I don't want to repaint it because it is not in that bad of shape. Would it bring back some of the color if I buff it? If so, what should I use?

thanks for any help.

My trailer was in the same condition as yours I buffed my trailer last year with a Variable speed buffer with an 8" polishing wheel using a 3M Micro-Cut compound followed up with a good coat of wax it looks great, you just need to be careful on the corners and edges of the frame not to buff the paint off.

If you have pin striping, buffing will likely take it off. Just a warning.

I buffed mine last week and it looks brand new. Most trailers are painted with single stage enamel that has no top coat to protect the color hence the fade.
A little wax after you buff will go a long way.

If you DO polish the pin striping off - don't sweat it you can buy white, red or black pin striping at any parts store for under $8 and do your whole trailer, its pretty easy.
