is your anchor coated with the rubber stuff?? if it is that's why it doesn't stick. Also if you use 5' of chain and anchor rope (its a stretchable rope) just about any size anchor will work. Also I carry 2, one for the lakes one for the river.

If you're referring to a navy anchor when you say "2 blade", they are pretty much worthless. I use three bladed river anchors. One in front and one in back. They hold really well for me.

I use the same river anchor on ours & it is worthless IMO. It just drags us right along if there is any wind at all.

here in the sacramento river we have a currant of 7mph. I use the standard $25.00 anchor with 10' of bungy line and rope and my anchor stays all day. If you use enough lead rope just about any anchor will hold. 10` for every 1` of water I think is the rule.

big mushroom anchor with an anchor buddy system. It has never broken loose, even in a variety of bottom conditions.

Bocephus, got it right, does not move in a 7 mph current or multiple same time passes from boats that are slammed. Rig it with bungee and tie it to shore.

I use a Fortress anchor. Light because it's aluminum and it holds real well. This has been discussed before. Do a search. Chris Get the Grip you Deserve www.wakejunky.com

Box anchor with an anchor buddy rope is the way to go. I just put my setup to the test last weekend and it held my Supra in place in 35 mph winds with 4 foot swells. Not a good time making it make to shore though. I couldn't make it to the trailer and hand to tie to a dock. the boat next to mine sunk over night. I was all good though.

I was on the Columbia River in Washington state. You just never know there with the canyons that line the river. It was glass all the next day. Go figure.
