i can do the mexican roll no problem and blind 180s, but im having trouble getting the handle with my back hand. i touched the handle one time, but that was it.

anyone that can do this got tips for learning it? im trying for the early pass roll to blind if you didnt know.

Cody...i'll return the favor. Although I cannot do a roll to blind the basic idea applies to a tootsie roll that I do and I ride with some guys from time to time who do do them.

Sounds like you have too much line tention on the rope. Try practicing some backrolls where you don't load the line so much. Come off your edge and actually "swoop" the board up the wake to force the roll rotation. This is similar to what you want to do if you were trying to nosegrab a backroll. The swooping motion allows you to complete the roll with out having the line loaded so much.

Also remember to give a hard pull to your back and look down and away (put your chin on your back shoulder) to help initiate the rotation.

I saw a dude throwing them at a tourney today, he was taking the smallest cut of any of his other tricks and was standing tall right from the beginning of the trick... not sure if this helps, but i can tell you he wasn't taking a balls out cut for it
