Ok, I have a Wetsounds XS-10FA Sub and a Cadence SQA-5001. I am having some kind of wiring problem I guess, because when I turn it on, nothing happens. I tried unplugging the RCA cables and when I unplugged one of them the sub started working. But it had no beat, it was just continuously on. So, if only one of the RCA cables was hooked up to the cd player it would be constantly on, but if they are both plugged in, then the sub will not do anything. Here is how I have the sub hooked to the amp.

The XS-10 is a DV 4ohm coil sub. It will run in 8ohm or 2ohm mode on 1 channel of the amp (or bridged on a multi-chnl amp). Looking at your drawing, it looks like you have both coils wired to the amp, is that how i'm seeing it?

*EDIT* ok, just looked, and that's a single chnl amp, so whether you wire the coils series or parallel, it should work.

Try another set of cables, and a different output from the Head Unit. See what that does.

This may sound like a stupid question, but a good place to start...

Have you wired the "remote" wire to your stereo?

yes, the remote wire is going to my stereo. Tested the wires on a speaker and they work. And the different outputs don't seem to help either.

I have two amps, there is only one remote wire coming out of the stereo. I ended up splitting the remote wire to go to both amps, that is how you are supposed to do it correct?

Correct. Hmmm... have you double checked that the wires are wired correctly to the positive and negative terminals? If one is backwards and the coils are pushing against each other, I'd imagine this might be the result... and maybe that's why you are getting sound when one is unplugged. Might be worth double-checking.

Look at page 4 of the owners manual for the sub I'd bet you have the wires crossed like Cal said.

hopefully you didn't damage one of the coils. That is a good way to do it.

LOL looks like it.
It would scare me to buy them when they don't work for you. I have a seen quite a few of the cadence amps that have gone bad with in the first 30 days. Hope that hasn't happened to you.
