I realized that on the hyperlite.com website they said the temet this year has weird bumps on the bottom to cushion landings. The temet looks like it has pretty much the same design to me and last year they said those edges or what ever on the bottom were speed channels. Are they advertising differently or did they really change the bottom?

thanks

04's have .8 side fins and the one 05 I saw today had 1.0 . Can you get different size fins from the factory?

No the reason they changed the name was because a lot of people would be asking them which board does Shaun Murray ride and no one knew that it was the Temet.. so since Murray liked the shape of the 04' board sooo much that he decided to leave it the same but change the name... thats what Murray himself said.

and before belmont it was murray right? I think they change the names every so often just to mix it up a bit, Byerly is the only one that hasn't changed (bsides parks but thats only 3 yrs old) as far as I know.

Well if we want to get technical about it:

1997 = Murray Pro Model / Fluid

1998-1999 = Murray Pro Model / Fluid, reshaped board same name.

2000-2001 = Belmont (referred to know as the Motive), questionably one of the best all-around wakeboard shapes of all time.

2002-2003 = Belmont, reshaped 6 fin design. I absolutely love this board, and wish they still made it.

2004 = Temet, directional shape w/ 0.8" P-wings.

2005 = Murray. Same directional shape as the Temet, w/ 1.1" fins.

I've rode 3 of the 5 Murray shapes for the past 5 years, and have always loved the way they ride. Although I have to admit when the Temet shape came out I was a little weary about the directional thing, so this year I decided to try the 3DS, and I can't wait to ride it.
