Anybody know anything about wakeboarding in Jamaica? I’m going down there on vacation for a week in February and thought there might be a chance I could do some boarding. Please let me know if you have any information.

Was in Jamaica first week of November of 08. Stayed in Negril. Tow boat was a DD prostar 190 I believe. Only board they had to offer was a CWB faze. Good luck!

I was in Negril at the end of July (honeymoon) and rode at our resort. We stayed at Couples Swept Away and it was awesome! They had just received a new navy blue MC prostar 190. Not the best wakeboat, but I can guarantee you there are very few things cooler than being able to cut out, look down and see 30+ feet to bottom of the ocean. They had an older CWB absolute 140, but the bindings were terrible. If you have room I would pack your own pair.

We didnt get a pic of me riding, but here is a pic of the boat and a picture of my wife with a barracuda that this rasta dude speared.

I was last in Jamaica a few years ago, stayed at Beaches near Negril and they had a couple of X-9's. They had some old junk board and none of the driver's had a clue but it was still cool. Going again next week to a different part of the island but no riding for me this time, I've got a bum knee. NO PROBLEM, MON! Have fun.

Wow thanks for all of the input guys. I am staying near Montego Bay. It's a newer resort and they have "moterized water sports" so hopefully they will have a decent boat. I'll deal with whatever they have for a board but hopefully I can squeeze my boots into my luggage.
