More asinine than dreaded. I would work around it or rework it.

Mike, You as a dealer should know that the boat that you are talking about was available for years, it was called the 210 Signature Series. Look up how many 210 signature series boats were sold, not many, they were often surpassed by buyers who didn't want a stripped down 210 and ended up with a Limited or Team edition. The Signature simply didn't sell very well. I bought my '06 for less than $45K OTD.

Do 23' boats out sell 21' boats? I have always wondered why Epic would start with a 23' boat. I have always thought that the 21' vdrive is the sweet spot for wakeboard boats. So, I would think that a startup boat company would focus on a 21' vdrive boat above all other boats.

I agree that the smaller boats are often more efficient at producing a big wake. I ditched my 23' LSV for a 2005 X2 because I thought that was what I wanted. It was a great boat, but like the 210, it was frustrating at times. The narrow boats are finicky. Someone farts and the wake rolls over. As much as you try to keep the wake consistent, it's always changing. Currant, wind, people weight, fuel weight...etc... The narrow boats also produce a very tall and thin wake at times, which I would just punch right through. The bigger boats are less efficient, cost more to ride, but once you have the weight added, they produce a solid wake that is more resistant to the elements I mentioned above. If my 40 lb dog jumps from the seat to the floor while I'm riding, the wake doesn't change. Sanger 215: I love this boat. Scott and Andrea made a prop change to the Acme 911 and added a bunch of weight. The boat is cheaper to ride behind, and the wake is world class. I find that I learn more behind this boat. The wake is firm at a slower speed and not too wide. Even transitioning from our 8.1 Xstar, the Sanger 215 wake is very satisfying and rider friendly. Not as big or hard as a Xstar wake, or a 210, but every once in a while that is good.

My 2000 VLX rolls left/right from the rider pull a ton more than my friends SAN 210. My VLX gets steered big time and the wake changes. It adds to driver fatigue mostly.

About the clamshell: I like it. I have spent alot of time killing my back to get into and work in the passenger storage of my 205V, but with the clamshell, you just raise the seat and lay down. If you really want a fix, you could always rework the seat to have a flip up back rest with a cutout to allow access to storage on the clamshell and you would get the best of both worlds.

Sam- I know signatures dont sell that's why I mentioned keyless ignition. The point is they need to have the esentials and let the customer add what ever they want. At least the customer can get into the boat at $43,797 OTD. Believe me we hit them up about 10 times a year for this. It might just happen if we keep asking but you know CC always two years behind

Sanger V215 takes way more weight than a SAN or Sanger V210 to get to a decent size wake. 2500 lbs. or so...

Mike, Are you saying that the target audience of this low priced boat won't buy a Signature Series because of the ignition switch? The signature series didn't sell because people who buy boats have money and the move up to a team edition isn't going to kill them and they want the team edition bells and whistles. CC knows who their target customer is and goes after that market. If so many people want the old 210, the resale market is full of them.

i removed the clamshell from my 06. just reworked what was there, cost nothing to do. i just hated that fact that everyone had to vacate the boat so someone could get something from under the seat. heres my 210 love.

Hi Joe. Do you mean the wakes are a cross between the VLX and the original SAN? Which VLX wake? The newer more vert VLX wake or the more rampy one on my 2000 VLX?
