I own a Session 22XI and have had repeated problems with broken prop shafts.

I snapped the original, and the replacement one only lasted 2 weeks.

Is this a common problem, and is there a better solution?

Any help appreciated.

It shouldn't be a problem. I assume your prop is OK and is not hitting anything. You could have a problem with sever out of balance but you would feel that easily. You probably have an alignment problem that's putting a side load onto the shaft. If that's the case, you need to look at the motor mounts or a manufacturing problem. It does not take much of a misalignment to cause a failure. Take the broken shaft to a metalurgist if you need to as they may be able to look and tell you how the failure progressed.
Good luck.

Was it your prop shaft that broke, or could it have been the plate that mounts to the v-drive. I had a problem with the plate, I can give you more info on that if you need it.
